I'm glad they had that banner so proudly displayed. The overreaction to this truly shows who the evil people are here!

I saw a tweet about some mother who was appalled. Now if I remember rightly, this was advertised as a Pride performance and booking was via a dedicated page only. So I think it would be quite hard to book tickets "by accident". Even when I saw them pop up on TodayTix this week it was clearly advertised.
Not that we ought to give any oxygen to these people. It was a marvellous night and I'm very glad they had the Protect Trans Kid poster.

Oh dear, the anti trans lot on X seem to have latched on to the 'protect trans youth with your vote' banner. I won't quote them but it does remind me why I hate the internet. Obviously I agree with that sentiment but I'm surprised they had the banner, I would've thought theatres/shows are obliged to remain politically neutral!

You’d have thought that they’d run a mile from ‘an opinion’.

I was at also at the Pride performance with a friend who was seeing the show for the first time and she was saying how much she loved Elsa’s second costume in Act II, which got me thinking about why they decided to add it. I assume it’s either just for variety or maybe because it’s hard to move around in the skintight gown for “Monster” and “Colder by the Minute”, I can see the choreography would probably be easier in trousers. In-universe though, I couldn’t stop giggling at the idea that Elsa is alone on the mountain, has just injured her sister and is being hunted by half of Arendelle but decides it’s time to change into a sensible yet fashionable pantsuit, our fashion-conscious queen.

That trousers outfit is a crime. Just horrendous.

Elsa obviously shops at the same riding store that Han's does. They wear the same jodphurs and they are very unforgiving. Han's must be tucked to within an inch of his life in that costume.

Being filmed. Hoping it doesn't suffer the same fate as Aladdin. It was filmed ages ago with an invited audience.

Yep, it was months ago, though I'm still finding the white confetti even now!

I think they're definitely filming multiple performances recently so they can cut them up into whatever they desire. Like how I suspect the pride performance was filmed for the cheering.

Theatre is generally about something and/or trying to send a message and is therefore often explicitly political.

Disney want money. Disney know that the money that they make supporting the Queer community commercially is more than the money they'd make by not doing that, pandering to the ones who oppose such things. That's why there's a Frozen pride performance... But considering that Disney would probably not exist as the powerhouse today if it weren't for a lot of queer creators, especially in the 80's and 90's, many people working there motivate the company into giving the support they give to the queer community. Hence the strong stance they took in Florida. (although I suppose in another way you can see it as not wanting to affect their current workers and have to do a bunch of changes that they can't be bothered to do and would cost money.)
It depends how cynical you are

Like, super-cynical…you could try to be more so, but you would not be successful. 😎

Interesting it's billed as "the Hit Broadway Musical" when it wasn't a hit on Broadway, and this was filmed in London with the London cast where it arguably WAS a hit!

Is there any intention for this to tour following the conclusion of its London run?
Would presume it it were to tour, they’d probably wait it out until both Aladdin + Mary Poppins have concluded their tours?

Obviously doesn't necessarily mean anything, but if it does I'd assume after aladdin and Poppins. Aladdin also isn't selling as well as they probably would have hoped. Although Frozen is probably a safer bet. Frozen 3 is due out 2027 so maybe around then

Frozen would need to be down-sized in its current incarnation for UK touring houses, so it'd have to be worked on again, which Disney probably won't do right now considering how much is going on.
Unless they picked venues on the larger side, they may have trouble being able to take the current US tour version out.

I would imagine Disney will do a 2nd US National tour of Frozen in the US that is smaller in scale, that's what happened to Aladdin, the UK tour is based on the 2nd National US tour.

Unless they picked venues on the larger side, they may have trouble being able to take the current US tour version out. I think if they brought the US tour over and did the usual big venues Disney usually use first time around (e.g. with the lion king) they would be fine. It just depends whether they want to visit some of the more midsize venues too
