Maybe the Critic at the Guardian just loved all shows. But this got better reviews then Aladdin and Wicked. But Disney has pull quotes

I still find it weird that the editor - and not the reviewer - decides the star rating based upon the review...

Billington was there last night. Would have loved to hear his opinion!

I still find it weird that the editor - and not the reviewer - decides the star rating based upon the review... I’m not sure that’s true as a matter of routine. Mark Shenton complained about a Sunday Express editor attempting to override the star rating MS had given to Scrooge from 3 to 5 stars. MS refused but did change it to 4 stars to avoid repercussions. So I’m sure they have the power of “veto” so to speak but from this report it didn’t sound like it’s the norm.

Thats a good promo. Gives away just about enough for the wow factor but doesn't show too much of the amazing effects.

Interestingly I feel like that Broadway review actually summarises the issues I had with the London production quite nicely. The issues with plot and music are still there despite the added spectacle.

I’m getting really excited for this after the slightly disappointing non-spectacle of ‘Beauty & The Beast’. I shall continue to familiarise myself with the ‘new’ songs til Sunday.

I am yet to see this.
For anyone who has, I'm curious, how do they do the trolls?

Speaking of the "hidden folk" and trolls, I've booked stalls slip seats - looking at seating plans it looks like they are side-on fanning outward with the stalls rows (meaning a potentially great side-on view of the person in front's head)... Has anybody sat in these seats at all or seen them up close? I've paid my money now but would be interested in any views - looks like an experiment to me as they're not on sale for all performances... Any advice gratefully appreciated.

At the first preview there were no seats there, space being used to store the booster seats. From what I could see the area is against the side wall and underneath the overhang of the dress circle which now curves around the theatre. Don't know if they will be fixed or movable chairs. There is then a low barrier between the slips and the stalls, which would have previously been far left snd right aisles. Not sure what the view will be as it depends on how they set out the seats.

Accident during the dress change in Let It Go. The trick didn’t work and poor Samantha Barks felt backwards. She managed to carry on, but shocked and neatly in tears. In the end she pulled it off and got a standing ovation. I hope she’s not hurt. Waiting for Act 2 to start

It should really be fool proof. If Madges Brit awards tumble has taught us anything (apart from “alright love, that’s enough. Give someone else a turn now”) it’s that theres no room for even an element of risk. It should just suck straight off into wherever it goes without any sort of effort or possibility of going wrong. Otherwise do something rubbish with magnets that isn’t going to hurt anyone.
