Re the final bow, it's the tradition for the show - what can you do? I guess the point is that Dorothy Brock and Julian Marsh are usually name actors and Peggy Sawyer is usually an ingénue.

Earlier, I asked if the show had been re-conceived, and someone reply 'why change anything', but it would be interesting to see if the show could carry some depth alongside the sheer razzle dazzle. It is about broken dreams, getting old, the Depression, and the sheer determination, maybe ruthlessness, of the spirit, and the catharsis of musical theatre. There is a reality underneath it all. Apart from the musical joy I do wonder if the could have another depth and a different concept in design. Stephen Daldry perhaps?

To change it you'd have to rewrite it, top to bottom. The show's current book could never support the depth of story you're asking for. It's based on a Depression era movie that was deliberately upbeat and hopeful and razzle dazzle - no one wanted to see bitter reality reflected. The show stays true to that approach.

I notice that row AA & row A are now £75 from May onwards! Is that normal top price for this show (which I don't understand why anyone would pay for any show anyway!)?

Yeah it seems to be, bit of a hike from the £15 I paid for the same seat on Tuesday. Guess now it is all in that they realised it wasn't at all restricted.

^ call where you bought the ticket from, anita, and ask. At worst, you can collect a duplicate on the day. Bought online at shows website. Email confirmation from entaconnect@seetickets but seetickets tracker has no mention of it.

This show. I mean, come on now, this show! Wht a spectacular theatrical event! This is easily one of the most spectacular things London theatre has seen in the past couple of years. The sets are stunning, the costumes are beautiful, the lighting is dazzling, visually it is top notch. The cast are phenomenal. Everyone works their parts perfectly. Clare is a star, Tom is great, Jasna is wonderful and Stuart is in fantastic voice! I actually thought Sheena did a fantastic job. She acted well and her singing was incredible! I think they went a bit over the top on her makeup though, as paired with the costumes she looked slightly more drag queen than aging diva but those lines can be drawn with alot of aging divas haha. The only cast member I had a slight quibble about was Christopher Howell, but I haven't been a fan of his in anything he has done bar Side Show. He just seems to be in everything and is never funny. He was alright. That ensemble though, with those routines, I mesn, spellbinding! Some highlights included the opening number, the mirror scene, the money song, Lullaby, 42nd Street and the Finale. It is show stopper after show stopper! And when those stars appear (literally being in the front row I didn't even see them come on stage), I was in awe, moreso than I was at every other number! Those front row £15 were basically daylight robbery. Not a single restriction. On me, the stage height was level with my torso and I am 5'10. And the orchestra pit have you far back enough that you can have the entire stage in your view at the same time! I'm not at all surprised they are putting the price up, I'm just glad I got in before they did! But seemingly full house tonight, very responsive audience tonight with two standing ovations in the Stalls at least, at the end (plus a couple of people standing at the end of the 42nd Street stair number). There were a few times where people cheered during damce numbers, for example when the mirror scene was occuring, but it wasn't distracting, and those numners seem designed to create the wow effect. As a show, this is a 5* hit, no question anout it! And I hope this runs and continues its success, as this could be a show that gains huge amounts of fanbase, and I can see that happening. It is a very expensive show to run, so I doubt they could close it lightly, but I tnink they will get the crowds in once word of mouth hits and the reviews come out. Prepare yourself for more 5*'s. It's gonna get them, and you know what, it deserves it!

So are we to blame for the price hike? In future we should all moan like mad about the awful view. 😃

Would someone be able to confirm that teeny-weeny 5ft 2(ish) people would be able to see all the feet in row AA pretty please?

Would someone be able to confirm that weeny 5ft 2(ish) people would be able to see all the feet in row AA pretty please? The stage is torso height on me (5'10) so you should be fine. Don't worry. And the orchestra pit sets you back so you don't have to look up. and the legroom was fine for me too, so you will be living your life there!

Also, when they do the production images, I hope we get one of Clare in that spotlight moment toward the end of the show. That was a real iconic image moment!

Guess now it is all in that they realised it wasn't at all restricted. Top price is actually a wallet busting £125.00 for preemy stalls. As for why people pay "full price", well I guess many people can afford to because they just can, or because they go to the theatre once in a blue moon and not several times a month. Then there are people who have specific needs around legroom, aisles, height etc which means the opportunities to pick up bargain price tickets are vastly reduced. And then there are people who don't live in London, can't do the day seat thing or walk up to a box office and ask what they've got. If you dont don't fit into any of the above categories, in other words you are of average leg length, width, height, with no dicky bladder or claustrophobia issues, living no further out than zone 4 then you're quids in!

Buzzing my TITS OFF to see this on Saturday afternoon from the front row! Couple of pics have been released. Unfortunate that 'Katharine Hepburn' is 'Katherine Hepburn'. And 'The Gay Divorce' should really be 'The Gay Divorcee'. Oops. Someone's not done their homework - though this is quite a fun game. Any others?!

Wish I hadn't told my Mum tickets for her Mother's Day treat were only £15 now. Mind you I am the worst a fibbing, I could never have an affair, I'd be blurting a confession before breakfast. Big thanks to whoever it was that gave us the original shout-out about the bargain tickets.

But even at £125 - I pay more than that for a plumber to come and tut at my stop-cock. Bargain I'd say.
