After Ashley missed out on the An American in Paris recording (he was an off stage alternate, not in the ensemble) I'm absolutely gutted for him to miss out on this too.

Bit of an own goal for Ashley Gay missing the recording is it not?
What happened? Did he step on Miss Halse's toes? Was she jealous of his peachy behind? Did he make La Langford squeam and squeam and squeam until she was sick?

Just to confirm, I'm not the one woman standing ovation. She looked like a regular, was really into the show, chatted with Jae etc. I think she was just trying to get something special going for the recording. (she was almost in front of me, I was Row A, mistyped it earlier) God put my mind in touch with hers, via the astral plane, and she told me, "I stood up because I have this huge need to be seen applauding and I don't care if I block the view of the person behind because I am special, with lots of self-worth, so I don't have to be considerate of others."

That article says: 'The Stage' report a cinema release is also expected, to be followed by home distribution.

That article says: 'The Stage' report a cinema release is also expected, to be followed by home distribution. The Stage did report that as a rumor, without saying anything about this being a BroadwayHD production. Their interest is to keep all these titles for their online platform, so that's why I'm no so sure this release will actually happen

I think if this was just for archive reasons, they wouldn't post about it on social media.

He's not left.
Ashley was ill or away when they were filming so he had the amazing opportunity to cover his track and be filmed doing it

I saw this for the last time last Friday from seat AA4 - unbelievably good again! I swear nothing will ever be able to touch the feeling of pure joy you get seeing this show!
The ensemble were brilliant as usual. Philip Bertioli and Steph Parry were both great as Billy and Maggie. I loved Bonnie Langford's take on . I'd only seen Sheena before as Dorothy who I liked but much preferred Bonnie Langford, her take felt warmer and and I found her hilarious! Clare Halse was just fabulous again, every time I've seen it her energy has been off the charts and she topped it this time - Insane! I can't believe she's managed to keep that level of energy up since last March. She must have some serious stamina. There really isn't a weak link in the cast.
It was a really lively audience (in a good way) too with loud cheers at the end of most songs and a standing ovation at the end. This probably added to the on stage energy and together we all created the symbiotic joy fest this show is known for. I'm so jealous of everyone going to the last night the atmosphere will be incredible I'm sure!!
I'm just sad that it's closing and it was my last time seeing it on stage. Still, it's had a good run and at least we'll have the cinema broadcast to look forward to.
For those taking about a possible DVD after the cinema broadcast. Bonnie told me at stage door that it's first going into cinemas and onto BroadwayHD and hopefully a DVD after that. So from how she said it, it sounds to me like a DVD is not definitely happening yet but they're hopeful. Tap shoes crossed!!

A DVD would be absolutely wonderful.
Also really looking forward to taking my Mum to watch it in cinemas. She won't be able to make it to London and really hope she loves it as much as I do.

Same thing here. I really wanted to take my Mum down to see the show but couldn't make the timing work - she'll love to see this at the cinema.

Not to put a damper on this hope, but I don't think BroadwayHD has ever released any of their shows on DVD and it doesn't make sense from an economical point of view - after all they want to sell subscriptions to their streaming service and releasing DVDs would run contrary to that.
