I think one of the best bits is how much the MD looks like he's enjoying himself when his podium rises up in the overture & entr'acte! No way!! They did exactly the same for the Entr'acte of Charlie & Choco Factory.

Maybe the mechanism had been left in place & 42nd Street decided to take advantage of it!

Maybe the mechanism had been left in place & 42nd Street decided to take advantage of it! Quite possibly, or I wonder if its a theatre mechanism that both shows have used... Entr'acte began and slowly Willy Wonka rose out conducting the orchestra, he then climbed over the rail and begun the Act 2 opener from the front row.

I imagine that October date will be the final performance. A shame if it does close then, but least it gives a year to see it as many times as we want! Thanks everybody for reminding me. I just bought A0 for the evening performance on 20 October 2018 and it was the last of the now £25 seats in Row A. So all I've got to do now is to stay alive, mobile and not go gaga to see 'Company' on 18 October 2018 and '42nd Street' on 20 October 2018, by which time I will be 81. Yippee! That was you that took the last seat! I was looking at the final show last night so think I'll just suck it up and go for the £75 front row ones! It's sure to be a magical evening. Theatre Board meet-up in the champagne bar??

Yes, I have booked the seat but whether I will be in any fit state to make the show remains to be seen! I like the idea of a Theatre Board meet-up in the Champagne Bar but for me I will need to wait to much closer to the time before committing to anything further. Let's see what happens over the coming year.

Anyone know what they were filming at Pinewood the other day? From the costumes it's "We're in the Money" but any idea what they were there for? I saw a couple of images on instagram but nothing that mentioned anything useful. I guess if it's for a tv show they'll mention it before it's broadcast, hope so anyway.

Although Les Miserables is, and probably always will be, my favourite musical, right now 42nd Street is the best thing in the West End. It's certainly the biggest.
Although I knew what was coming, when it was coming, my second visit yesterday was, if anything, even better than my first.
Her understudy was very good on my previous visit, but Clare Halse is outstanding.
I think I must have been that awestruck with the dancing last time that I missed all the gags.
The great thing about sitting on the front row is you can look the cast straight in the eye. I'm sure I even made eye contact with Sheena Easton at one point.
Three quarters of the way through the finale, everyone was still in their seats. Right Paul, I thought, you're in row A, if you stand up, everyone else will have to follow. So I did, and they did!!

I've sat in the front row for shows a couple of times, desperately wanting to stand at the end, but I've always had that awful, awful feeling that if I did, the others might not follow suit, and I'd be the tit at the front. Standing. All on his own. (It's a bit like that childhood dream where you're sitting at a table full of kids in school, and you can't stand up as you suddenly realise you haven't got your trousers on... )

Apols if been asked before but is stage left (A0/A1) or is stage right the best option?

Apols if been asked before but is stage left (A0/A1) or is stage right the best option? I preferred stage left/house right for view, and stage right/house left for legroom, but really they're both excellent. I'm surprised Theatre Board doesn't sponsor the seats, given how frequently us lot are sat in them!

If you are a Sheena fan stage right, house left is good as she seems to be on stage more that side.

Someone should try phoning the box office and asking if they have any of the theatre board seats available and see what their reaction is.

We did indeed meet Sheena as she scooted away from the stage door and she was lovely. Been a fan for many years having seen her in Vegas a couple of times and on her early tours in the uk.

I can't describe what I just witnessed. This is one of the best shows I've ever experienced. Wow!
Let me have my dinner before I post my thoughts.
