I love Philip Bertioli. He understudies the Norman Bowman role also Billy. Would love to see him in those roles. Loved him in Funny Girl too.

Another vote for Philip Bertioli from me! I first saw him in Funny Girl and thought he was a wonderful dancer, and he's fab in this too. I'd love to see him go on for Billy. The real stand-out for me though is Luke George. He impressed me in Titanic even though his role was pretty small, and he shines in this. Every time I caught sight of him on stage his smile was so infectious and his dancing was always sharp and expressive.
I'm kind of ashamed that I've got nothing to say about the female members of the ensemble - although the fact that I'm always watching the male ensemble says more about me than it does about them!

I KNEW I RECOGNISED HIM!! It's been bugging me for ages, I couldn't work out where I had seen him before! He broke my heart in Titanic. He is great in this, but he stood out so much in Titanic, he offered one of the hardest-hitting moments for me in that show, that made me uncontrollably cry.

Add me to the list of people that like Philip Bertiloi, loved him in Funny Girl and now in this. (Anyone looking for him, he wears blue in the non generic costume scenes). When I first saw the show I thought quite quickly that he'd make a perfect Billy so I was very glad when I discovered he covers the role. I managed to see him play Billy when he had a week of shows and he definitely lived up to my expectations and I preferred him to Stuart. shady23 and jgblunners Philip's next Billy dates according to twitter are the 21-23rd of September if you can make any of them. Other than him my eye was drawn to one of the three sailor's, the last time I saw the show but I didn't manage to work out who he was. I think he was on the right of the three most of the time, would be nice to know who he is if anyone knows! Also just wondering which of the ensemble numbers in the first half is Peggy not in? They make her obvious in some but is she in all of them and I've not spotted her? For example she's in the start of "We're in the Money" but does she reappear? Also what about in all the "Dames" stuff? I think she's in the colourful dresses bit but can't be completely sure, what about the other bit? Just curious. I'm kind of ashamed that I've got nothing to say about the female members of the ensemble - although the fact that I'm always watching the male ensemble says more about me than it does about them! You're not the only one! I could have said the same thing.

Pegy is in the end of that number, she is in a pink dress I believe, she is one of the last girls to come out of the doors.

That's what I thought but how about in the other part of Dames with the fans? I've never spotted her there but I have a thing with counting the number of people on stage and when I've seen the show I've tried to count and it's really tricky so I've never got round to Peggy spotting.

I think it is just because when the female Ensemble are onstage, its pretty much all of them onstage, whereas when it is just the men, there are alot less so more chance to spot them out. The men have more exciting costumes too in the non-Pretty Lady scenes. So for example, my favourite Sam, I notice him because in the opening scene he is centre of the stage, with a vest on whilst no other male is wearing that. And then, in the Lullaby of Broadway number, he is wearing a bright pink jacket and beret so he stands out there too. Added to the great dancing and consistant acting, that helps too. (for me anyway, maybe that may just be my crazy brain).

That's true, since there are a lot less male ensemble it's easier to tell them apart and like you say they have more exciting costumes. Sam's someone who I've definitely noticed a bit but I'd not have known what he wears in the Lullaby of Broadway, will look out for him next time I go.

Just remember... vest in opening number, pink in Lullaby of Broadway, red and black suit in the first half of the title number.
Clearly I spend too much time focusing on Sam Murphy.

Oh don't worry, I know exactly where Sam is at the start, not hard to miss him being right in the middle! I'll keep an eye out! I can say the same for Philip - starts annoyingly far back slightly stage left in blue with checked jumper, dances with Peggy/on his own in "You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me", boringly a policeman in 42nd Street, sits in the top row 3rd from the right in "Sunny side to every situation", and so on.....

I think we need a group trip so that everyone can exchange notes on the male ensemble at the interval 😂

Then the 2nd half would be a nightmare because we'll not know who to watch any more!

Its interesting though isn't it, that we pick out the male ensemble to focus on in these numbers, moreso than not just the females, but for me anyway, some of the main cast haha!

I almost think you could have cardboard cut-outs for the main parts and it would still work since it's all about the fabulous ensemble.

Everyone on stage is wonderful. They may have gone out as youngsters but they are all stars once they start dancing!

Guys and Dolls was just awful. If this show is getting compared to that, I should save my money.

Forgive the awful cliche but it 'should be available on the NHS.'

In ensemble spotting terms, during my 2nd viewing I found myself mostly watching Martin McCarthy, who I recognised from Top Hat, and Victoria Hay, who I recognised from Mrs Henderon Presents.
