When do the matinees finish out of curiosity? Well last night's show started just after 7:30pm and with an interval finished just after 10pm, if that's anything to go by. Unless something dramatic or unforeseen happens, I can't see why a matinee would have different timings.

After all these comments I was convinced I really must see this but left it too late for the bargain front row tickets I have managed to get A23, however, which I know is rather on the side but still only £15, for the matinee on 13th May. Does anyone know how restricted this seat is?

It's still a bargain. The seat behind is £55 I think.

Remember last summer, when loads of people were convinced that 42nd Street was a tired old show that wouldn't get modern audiences excited?

Remember last summer, when loads of people were convinced that 42nd Street was a tired old show that wouldn't get modern audiences excited? I was saying that at the meet up on Saturday. I'd looked back at the first few pages of this thread and it was very much the wrong show in a theatre far too large and it would struggle and not last long at all.

However, times have changed and this will stuggle with no doubt pared down sets, ensemble and band.

It will be popular for a month when all the theatre fans see it - but it probably won't sustain a strong run.

If anyone sits in A0, A1, A23 or A24 can they report back? I'd like to book to see it again but I'm worried about how restricted those seats are.

Putting my faith in my fellow TheatreBoard members, I have just filled one of my few remaining May slots with a front row ticket to 42nd Street.

Does anyone know how restricted this seat is? Ohhh, I just miss you, I've just booked the Saturday evening show that day - can't wait after reading all this. I saw the show way back in the 80's in there and I have a feeling you are all going through how I felt when I saw that one - I still remember how overawed I was watching that, my first West End show.

Anyone seen this and also the Paris production and had thoughts on how they compare?

A sample pair of Tena men incontinence pants arrived for me at work today. Someone's idea of a funny joke!!!! Judging from the comments about the show I think might have to wear them next Thursday whilst sitting in my front row seat.

For those asking about the view from side seats I have found the Seatplan web site useful for checking out seating at various theatres. For the Theatre Royal go to seatplan.com/london/42nd-street/ but note that the seat reviews do refer to a previous show.

I mean, the view based on Seat Plan still would seem good value. I imagine that some of the big tap numbers, particularly at the end, you would miss the back corners of the stage. Would be fine for a return viewer I imagine. Also note, as the pictures from Seat Plan are mainly Charlie, there is no staircase or railing for 42nd Street, so that doesn't affect your view.

I bought A1 but for July so I would like opinion of someone on board what has seen it from that seat. Here is the review from seat plan for A1 seatplan.com/london/42nd-street/#seat-41604/

Got a lovely last minute £25 seat in the middle of the grand circle.
I'm pretty sure the lady in row B directly down from me is going on theatre board at the moment. No badge though!

Well. It's OK. It could do with a tap routine though.
Just joshing kids, it's AMAZING!! There's a moment in the big finale number when the ensemble appear that gave me tickles in my nether regions.
I'm signing up for tap lessons tomorrow. I'm going to be in the show. I want to be Peggy Sawyer. I've got the legs for it.
