I've read seat reviews for this theatre where it seems the stalls are pretty badly raked and seats very low and you get badly impacted by people sitting infront of you? I'm wondering if i best go with the Dress Circle?

I skipped seeing this on Broadway whenever I was in NYC because the plot didn't sound appealing at all - there have just been so many musicals about teens lately. The cast album didn't win me over either since I only really liked two songs. Given that, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would last night; it has more nuance on stage than what I got from the cast album.
Nevertheless, its target audience is clearly teens, and for something that purports to deal with heavy themes like mental health and suicide, I found it too smooth, too tame, too didactic at times - take Fun Home, on the other hand, which deals with many of the same themes and yet for me had a depth of character (both kids and adults) that DEH never reaches.
I do think it's different if you're a teen and you're feeling all of this very deeply; the teen audience in the Noel Coward last night was very, very appreciative.
I was appreciative of the fact that I didn't have to buy any merch as they handed out DEH baseball caps with yesterday's date and "First Performance - London" embroidered of it, which is a lovely souvenir and I'm sure a great social media boost, as they had photographers outside the theatre taking pictures of the DEH cap-wearing crowds.
And for those who've considered the Royal Circle slips, I sat on the left side and was happy with my view - I remember only three instances where someone was standing so far to the left on stage that I had to lean forward, and the leg room is much better than other slips I've experienced.

Sitting dead centre of Row G Stalls for this Saturday evening! Will I get a good overall view from here? I'm hoping so for the £127.50 price tag eeek

I have not seen DEH. But did see Fun Home on Broadway. We in Australia do get these musicals. But never with the same director as on Broadway. We get all the mainstream. But what I hate is that it will not be the same great direction |

Haven’t seen anyone mention buying standing tickets but the website does say this: “Standing Tickets: Released on the day in person at the Box Office” |

I've never had a problem in the stalls, but I know a few who have. It’s ok I’m not going 🧸👍 |

With the fam,front stalls last night and this is a blockbuster.Sam absolutely nails the awkwardness and sense of social vulnerability and isolation that an awful lot of people feel in our world today.To feel dis-connected in a hyper-connected world is a scary place to be.
Absolutely wonderful casting and although the show deals with very heavy material there is a good sprinkling of humour to lighten the mood.
Set design is very clever and the band were on fire.
Haven’t heard adults and teens sobbing away in a theatre so much since the very early days of Les Mis with Colm Wilkinson.A profoundly powerful,up-lifting and devastating example of how amazing MT can be in the right creative hands.As good as anything I have ever seen in a theatre in the last 35 plus years and possibly better in many ways.

Went tonight and I wasn't really feeling it, although I was very much in the minority.
I will try it again sometime in the future but a matinee as seeing this after Les Mis just didn't work for me.

I've booked back row of the Grand Circle, and had planned to book there again to take some friends to see it! But I'm not seeing it until April, so won't be able to judge what might be missed! Any advice/heads up would be appreciated!  |

Sat in the front of the balcony for first preview, didn't miss any of the screens although the angle is rather steep. We couldn't read the text on some of the social media posts but came to the conclusion that it was so small it probably wasn't meant to be read fully anyway.

I'm just curious......previewing for a week (?) and much talk of seating but very little about the show (cast). I'm there next week, so we shall see.
