How about Selfridges Department Store? Or Fortnum and Masons? They usually have champagne bars. The recently opened Brasserie of Light in Selfridges could be perfect. Giant 30ft wingspan Damian Hirst Pegasus.

The Leopard bar in the Montague hotel near the British museum can be delightfully chilled and not over run by hoi polloi (thought they let me in, that ought to count against them). More of a cocktail bar, but champagne/cava should be on the menu. We had the bar more or less to ourselves between 4-6pm, probably fills up later and has live music from 7pm. Worth visiting for the safari theme on its own (even extends to bar staff) and pretty nice cocktails. www.montaguehotel.com/food-and-drink/the-leopard-barThanks Coated looks lovely though I find the Scambled Eggs as a 'bar snack' amusing.

Quite exited.
By the way does Patti stage door. I’ve never done stage door but it’s Patti and it’s my first time seeing her.

Patti seems to stage door almost every day (after evenings) yes! a few on here have managed to meet her/get autographs etc. Maybe post on the Company thread and someone can answer more definitively.

Thanks EmiCardiff, With all the stuff I saw at the weekend about Stage Door at Jamie and seeing Gillian Anderson's post I don't think I'll do it. It seems it's become something different than what it once was or what i thought it was and there is a sense of entitlement to these performers from fans. That's not me and wouldn't like to be associated with that. I'll just lovingly adore Patti from my seat in the stalls.

There used to be a pub near me that advertised "English Tapas" which turned out to be small portions of egg and chips. I am here for this.

@mylifeindrama Don't worry about the crazy stage door stories and don't let it put you off from stagedooring. There are a lot of normal people there as well. In December I stagedoored twice at Company, because the first time was the Thursday matinee and the leading ladies didn't come out then. So then I tried again after I saw the show for a second time on Saturday night. Both times there were people of all ages there, well except for kids. There was no craziness and I chatted to the people around me while we waited. It was fun to mingle with other theatre fans. These were the only times I stagedoored in London and it was totally fine. There was a good atmosphere and as far as I could tell people were respectful.
About the actors, Rosalie and Patti were very friendly and swiftly went down the line and signed programmmes. Before Patti came out we were told not to ask for selfies. Many other cast members walked past humbly and seemed to think that people were not there for them too, which was not true. I highly doubt that if you do stagedoor at Company that you will have a bad experience and nobody will think any less of you for doing that on your trip. Patti performing in the UK is a big deal and who knows if you will ever get the chance to meet her again? That's what I thought and I'm glad I did it, it was fun! 😃

Of all the leading ladies I guess Patti is my favourite and I just missed out on the chance to see her in War Paint in 2017. At the time it was the rumour she was retiring so I am delighted to be able to get to see her here in the UK. We are going on an evening performance and will give it a try. Thanks again for a lovely, reassuring post.

You're very welcome, I'm glad I could help. 😊 Oh, I would have loved to see War Paint too! True about the retiring thing. At the stage door I met a few people who had come all the way from China to see Patti perform as they thought this could be their last chance. In general I think most people there were too nervous about meeting Patti to even think about misbehaving. 😄

Calm down people we had brexit proof sparking wine instead of champagne courtesy of the Estate of Wetherspoons.
We were stuck in Victoria for a time
