I can't recall a reaction as negative as this. Facebook is full of very unhappy people on this subject.

Is there an official press night, by which time it was expected that everyone would be up to standard? My question's irrelevant of course because 1) No paying audience - even at preview prices - should be experimented on with barely the standard of an early rehearsal; and 2) Bill Kenwright would know that having cast tabloid fodder in key roles there would be no protocols on blog sites, twitter, and (due to the latter) the reporting of social media opinions as news. I think this situation is truly a disgrace. Nobody should be made as vulnerable as Sarah Harding has been, in exposing her in an arena in which she is clearly not strong enough to contend with completely reasonable public scrutiny by paying customers. Was she having a nervous 'off night' when this audio was recorded, or is this what Bill Kenwright heard when she auditioned / had a meeting for the role? Neither are a good scenario, because an off night should never fall so low; but Bill Kenwright really needs to look after his performers. There is gathering discussion about mental health issues for performers (look for the hashtag #itaffectsme on Twitter for example, or the Spotlight article here. www.spotlight.com/news/archive/2016/02/09/actors-and-mental-illness-being-honest.aspx)This situation is an absolute low, and pushes the discussion of Kenwright's 'canny businessman' producing style into darker territory. Has he not noticed how the social media world has changed everything, or does he just think it's all gains. I find it impossible to compute that he was once an actor himself, as he seems to be without empathy or human insight (having seen his direction of Whistle Down The Wind I already know he hasn't).

Is there an official Facebook page, or where are the negative comments?

I actually think Sarah started off OK but, Jesus, she sounds awful by the end of it. She does! She runs out of breath at one point, and her voice lacks any power or depth!

X Factor on in the background as I iron and a lovely Welsh girl is nailing With You.
Sarah should be ashamed.

A young girl has just sung With You on the X Factor. Very unfortunate as it's just given twitter even more ammunition. Also ironic how one of the judges has just said 'that's a really hard song to audition with.' Hmm.

Really! Please! I agree with all your post except the quote above which seems to imply that Sarah may be having some sort of mental health problem. There is absolutely nothing to suggest this and I think it's a huge leap to say that.

Also, based on that audio I posted, I don't know why anyone is saying Andy is good either, he sounds just as bad as Sarah!

I didn't want to sound like a smart-arse by saying someone else had posted it, I just wanted to make sure so I didn't have to listen to it again.

I just wanted to make sure so I didn't have to listen to it again. You should go into Musical casting - then we could've avoided this whole mess!

There is absolutely nothing to suggest this and I think it's a huge leap to say that. What I'm saying is that producers need to look after their performers, and not expose them to risk of humiliation which is then captured in perpetuity on Youtube and will probably never be erased. That can't lead to anything good. I'm not making any leap to conjecture how Sarah Harding is feeling - how would I know? - though I hope she's laughing this off and aiming for more appreciation as things bed down in the production. But I do know what I feel about duty of care and ethics in (show) business.

Also, based on that audio I posted, I don't know why anyone is saying Andy is good either, he sounds just as bad as Sarah! I think I was more accepting of him because he was at least trying, he had actually put some rehearsal time in. I wouldn't go as far as good, but his other songs were mostly not horrendous, and his acting, while not great, is better than hers. Also I think in the moment, next to her, he seemed great! Her acting is 10 times worse than her singing, so the audios do not even show the full effect.

If the bootlegs were blowing people away with how amazing the vocals were, they would be retweeting them themselves. This going to get very messy
