Just in case someone is interested, I watched Adrianne's stories on Instagram and she said she is not playing Mondays and Thursday matinee.

Not many theatreboarders seem to be attracted to this one. (i.e. getting their tickets to see it) Hmm interesting. Updates on this topic are painfully slow!

New to this board. I apologize if this has been discussed before but does anyone know if Adrianne is contracted through the end of the year? I will be visiting in early Dec. and would love to see her.

Well this really is Adrienne's show, isn't it? What an absolute triumph she is - a tour de force, star making, if not career defining performance! She is an absolutely sensational triple threat and fully deserves all the acclaim she is getting. She had the audience in the palm of her hand with the first note she sang, and she got a very deserved full standing ovation and crazy loud cheers at the end. Such a shame the Best Actress in a Musical category at the Oliviers is likely to be pretty competitive next year with "names", as she more than deserves it for this masterclass. If there is any justice she will win.
The show itself wouldn't be anything particularly special or unusual without her, but with her it shines. It doesn't shy away from the difficulties of Tina's life but weaves some of her best songs through it in clever ways before exploding in a riot of noise and colour at the end, with its leading lady at her absolute best. A few minor niggles on sound balance and some pitchy vocals from some other cast members, but just irritants really.
Overall, I loved it and will definitely be going back before Adrienne leaves - the difficulty is that I can't imagine anyone else being anywhere near as good in the role!
For those who are interested, house full tonight. I loved all the signs and announcements about not singing along, and at least about 90% of the audience complied, though sadly not all...
@theatremonkey - Dress Circle L22 was a great seat - clear view (although if shorter a cushion or sitting forward may be necessary as the seats are quite reclined) and surprisingly generous legroom. Only issue was seeing the leading lady at the very end due to the overhang (which is very low). Definitely worth booking given it's not top price as very little is missed.

I am going in September (Tuesday) and since I got Grand circle (G15 &16) I am thinking of upgrade, do they do that? I got it via Nederlander.

Although I'm not that bothered about seeing the production again, although I did like it, I feel I have to go back for La Warren. I had the misfortune to catch the understudy (not the alternate) and I think the show's overall quality suffered as a result. I just thought she was very good, but not outstanding.

Are we going to get a cast recording anytime soon? Looks as if the answer might be yes - Adrienne has posted a photo of herself with headphones on Instagram with the caption "overtime"...

The sleeve design will be interesting! Tina Turner's record label have already hijacked the show's artwork for the cover of (another) greatest hits CD.

They could go down the same line that we will rock you did and use a shot from the show as the cover. We will rock you had a shot of Galileo facing the audience and it worked well.

Hi everyone! I'd like to take a friend to see this for her 60th birthday in October. Any advice on the best place to get tickets please, and also which of the cheaper priced seats are best to go for? I've not been to the Aldwych before so all help gratefully received, thank you.

I've not been to the Aldwych before so all help gratefully received, thank you. There are no discounts as far as I'm aware so direct from the box office is probably your best option. As far as cheaper seats go, I went for second price back of the Royal Circle, which was great - you only miss a tiny bit near the end which doesn't really matter. Not sure where is best if you go cheaper than that.

In one of the musical theatre FB forums, I see that one of the box office staff is saying they now do day seats for the Thursday and Saturday matinees. Can't see to link to the post, but might be useful for someone.

We've opted for the slip seats in the dress circle. Not my first choice especially at £60 each but my family could only make one certain date. I suppose it's ok when you know everyone in the row and negotiating lean isn't awkward!

This reminds me, I've entered their lottery twice. The first time the entry expired, they emailed me and I re-entered, but that entry must also have expired and I've heard nothing. It's not for all performances but if it is still running, it might be worth trying for some.

Ah yes - I was just wondering in reference to the earlier post about her having holiday at the end of August! I wonder if it will be week commencing 27th August in which case she will still be performing on Saturday 25th? I didn’t see her instagram post where she mentioned her holiday dates.

Well I'm late to the party on this one having only just caught up with over the weekend. Other than the last 15 minutes which are electrifying and exhilarating I found the whole enterprise to be rather dull and amatuerish . The book scenes were especially trite with line after line loaded with exposition that gave information but didn't develop character. I watched the proceedings feeling entirely detached from them. Adrienne Warren certainly sounded like Tina when she sang but not when she spoke. And the staging was rudimentary at best. I found it odd that except for the finale there were no real show-stopping moments the entire evening. The person I was with loved the show and when I brought up these points he said" yeah, but does it matter?" So I know I'm in the minority but overall : "meh".

She said in an Instagram story yesterday that this is her last week before holiday, so sounds as if she may well be on this Saturday.
