Lovely. Well it's got the EP seal of approval which is good enough for me.
Adrienne's new alternate perhaps?

That scarf in June is beyond pretentious It's finest cashmere, dah-ling! Warm in winter, cool in summer. (Actually, just a few Sundays ago she was saying how she finds many theatres too cold, especially in New York when she goes over for the Tonys.)

Well Elaine is very wise. I never leave the house without something pink, although at this time of year I alternate with burnt orange and bright yellow.

Does anyone know Adrienne's holiday dates? Looking to go in July and want to make sure it's a show where she's scheduled to be on.

We saw this at the weekend and absolutely loved it. A fantastic production and it was wonderful sitting in the front row, being able to see the gorgeous costumes. The Ikete's coats, in particular, were to die for. Adrienne's dresses wouldn't have looked out of place on the Latin dancers on Strictly.
Everyone was on their game and, apart from a very dodgy German accent, there was no weak link. We did, however, have some sound issues, mainly when Adrienne was singing. Her voice was coming from somewhere indeterminate within the theatre and also was a nano-second behind her lips. We fleetingly wondered if she was miming at one point. (She wasn't.) When she duetted with the girl playing Anna Mae (an absolute power-house! We loved her!) it was much more apparent. Anna Mae's voice sounded, from the front row, like it was coming out of her mouth. Adrienne's voice did not. I had trouble hearing maybe 50% of what she was singing. Which was a shame as she is a tour de force.
The kids in general were amazing - to have to act with the violence going on around them, actually getting 'hit' in Anna Mae's case and pretending to be beaten in Craig's case must have been quite daunting at the start of rehearsals. Full marks to whoever trained them. It was wonderful to see they got their own, individual bows.
Three of the actresses genuinely cried at various times, whilst giving performances that made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Some amazing talent was on that stage.
Sound issues aside, this was a great show and the audience loved it too, with a full standing ovation before the stand-up-and-singalong bit.
And worth mentioning, at £8 the programme is probably one of the best I've ever bought. Lots of Tina information, timelines and photos.

Im sure this has been covered already - but whats the best way to get cheapies for this? I cant find any of the £10 or even £19.50 tickets when i look through the website - and their lottery just confuses the hell out of me.

Just had a quick look now on the nederlander website, all I can find is various £19.50 ones for the back end of the year early next year. Though these seem to be for the mid week shows rather than the Fri / Sat shows. They are few and far between. All the £10 tickets on the random dates i picked appear to be taken. Hope this helps.

Thanks - that's on the website but not her holiday dates, and she tweeted about a holiday but didn't mention when it is. I’m seeing the show in early August and knowing my luck (plus thinking about how long she’d be in the show for by then) I’m preparing for the possibility she might be on leave. Has anyone seen her alternate? I assume the show is probably in good hands with either?

I was there last night. I agree with everyone: Adrienne Warren is incredible!
As a visitor from the U.S., I'm so glad I learned about the show from this board well before my trip, since otherwise I might not have been able to snag such a great seat in the stalls.
When this moves to Broadway, I hope we can steal Adrienne back. Until then, Londoners must see her as many times as they can . . .

I saw this a few weeks back and Jenny Fitzpatrick was on as Tina. Overall, I thought it’s a really excellent piece. The staging is really clever; the scenes at the beginning in the gospel church were quite moving and gloriously sung. It’s well acted and paced. There are some quite dark moments which I found quite shocking, though knowing Tina’s background, maybe I should’ve been more prepared. I’m glad it isn’t just a jukebox musical, though, as it means it’s more emotionally engaging than it might have been. Jenny is a star; a superb actress and singer. From what I’ve heard of Adrienne, Jenny’s voice perhaps isn’t quite as strong but I don’t think anyone who sees her performance will feel short changed at all. She has great energy and really gets into her stride in the second half. The supporting cast are all very talented and enjoyable to watch. I have no qualms in recommending that people see Jenny if they’re tempted by a matinee performance.

Understudy was on today. So annoying! I thought she was very good but I don't think she had the wow factor that people are saying about Adrienne.

She is amazing by most standards, I left on Friday a bit underwhelmed though. It’s not taking anything away from her performance but wow you realise how absolutely incredible the real TT was. I saw her final tour and even at 70 or whatever she was, she would have left Adrienne standing. That wasn’t my issue with the show though, I just found it a bit hokey. The crowbarring in of certain songs was as subtle as a house brick in the face (he beats her up then sings I Don’t Want To Fight ... ouch... ) it had shades of Brian Epstein in Cilla, getting duffed up by rough trade then singing “Hey! You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away. It was ubdeniably enjoyable but only a strong ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me. Have to agree. I think jukebox musicals (of which I don't normally go and see) are a bit predisposed to be hokey/corny, and this show teetered dangerously on that line. Plus a lot of the audience were the "girls night out" brigade - loud and ghastly.

i saw this last night and i must say i was completely underwhelmed. thought it was incredibly boring. However Adrienne warren was outstanding. just wish the rest of the show could have been like the last 10 minutes. Perhaps you should have attended your nearest Tina Turner tribute show, if that's what you were looking for.
