i saw this last night and i must say i was completely underwhelmed. thought it was incredibly boring. However Adrienne warren was outstanding. just wish the rest of the show could have been like the last 10 minutes.

Bless her heart. I think it’s fabulous she’s even able to do 2 shows in a day from how demanding vocally and physically the role sounds from reviews!

She is amazing by most standards, I left on Friday a bit underwhelmed though. It’s not taking anything away from her performance but wow you realise how absolutely incredible the real TT was. I saw her final tour and even at 70 or whatever she was, she would have left Adrienne standing. That wasn’t my issue with the show though, I just found it a bit hokey. The crowbarring in of certain songs was as subtle as a house brick in the face (he beats her up then sings I Don’t Want To Fight ... ouch... ) it had shades of Brian Epstein in Cilla, getting duffed up by rough trade then singing “Hey! You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away.
It was ubdeniably enjoyable but only a strong ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.

I feel like you can never beat the original- same as nobody could ever sing as good as Whitney could in the Bodyguard but they are all so amazing still, Adrienne is a force

My friend WhatsApp'd me last night saying that the birthing scene which I described to her is no longer in the show. I'm glad it's out. It was awkward and reminded me of Wicked. Just thought I'd share.

Don’t think it was there for me either Imagine a jester and his wife arguing over some sausages, then a crocodile appears and the wife fires a new born baby into the audience. Adoption papers are then served by an usher to whoever makes the catch. That’s the way to do it.

Saw this Monday night and Jenny was on for Tina. Have to say she was great and I am sure most of the audience would not have realised the alternate was on. This was helped by the usual poor cast information at the theatre. The cast list flashed off and on with other adverts and there was only one board. Still enjoyed the show although the 2nd half was better. The material in the first half was largely unknown to me apart from the obvious couple. The show only really came to life in the closing section. While I realise they don't just want to re-enact a Tina concert I feel some of the numbers needed more production and also doing in their entirety.

I really enjoyed this though you could feel the audience wanting to sing and dance earlier than they were allowed.
I think a lot of people were surprised by the first half, there were some real gasps at some of the violence and language and they weren't as familiar with the sixties songs.
The second half has less of a struggle but enough incident to keep it going. It's interesting how dramatically her life shifted into a much whiter world in the 1980's and it shows in the audience though you could argue her audience has always been predominantly white in the UK - Riverdeep was a much bigger hit here than the US and she and Ike toured with the Rolling Stones rather than in the soul tours other black artists were involved in here.
Huge energy with the end concert and musically pretty much every Tina song you would expect was there though some of them were a bit thrown away which you could tell disappointed the audience. Don't Turn Around was an odd choice as even though she sang it first, it's hardly considered her song. I suppose the biggest hit they missed was Typical Male which you thought would have fitted in somewhere with this story!
Adrienne was great as was Kobna, the rest of the cast were fine in pretty thankless roles. The weakness is she's not Tina Turner but who is.

There is a cd with the TINA logo on the front - but beware it is an old compilation of hits and not a cd of the show.

Well that's how you sell a show on BGT, what a performance!
How do I vote for Adrienne to win?

Seriously, do you think Simon Cowell sees an inch of irony in the fact that time after time he parades these mediocre musical talents across the stage in shows like 'X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent', claiming they are "world class" and often dismissing others with a "you should do musicals instead" like it's some form of second rate career and then he invites Adrienne on one of these show giving THAT performance?

I'm useless at lip-reading. What does Amanda say to Alesha at about 3.33, as she adjusts herself?
