Thank you! it says 2hr 40, quite long! I don’t know where they got that from, it’s 2 hours 20 or less than that even! I was on The Strand by 10pm after the first preview and that was with it starting 10 minutes late. |

I saw that the Rush tickets were Row BB and been trying to get one with no luck!
I’ve now noticed that ATG are selling BB for a few dates ranging from £39.50 to £45
Two left for the Matinee tomorrow are £39.50

Saw this last night and although I didn't think the second act was as poor as other users have said, it did seem to lose momentum a little bit. I also think the cast are way better than the material they're given - some of the songs are a bit 'meh' but the cast knock it out of the park, some incredible vocals here. And they managed to make some lines funny that weren't in the musical film - although it still can't quite match up to the comedic level of the original film. Damian and Karen in particular both got a lot of laughs and were perfectly cast, and there was a great energy and excitement in the theatre. A man in the row behind us was particularly animated and had a very loud but hilarious laugh!
A note about the programme: I wouldn't bother unless you really want it, it's £8 I think and doesn't have much in it. The rest of the merch is cool though, I couldn't resist getting a 'Get in loser we're going shopping' tote bag.
Also I'd not been to the Savoy Theatre before, so I didn't realise the Grand Circle would be so steep! I'm not afraid of heights but jeez! My seat was pretty uncomfortable too.

The programme really wasn't worth it, is £8 the rate for a standard house programme now? I know many shows do big glossy ones for more but that seemed steep. Was a bit disappointed that Act 2 didn't start in Damien's dressing room and take us all round the theatre but what can you do?! |

Finally saw this at the matinee today. Managed to get a £40 front row seat on the day. Front row in BB, which isn't shown on the current Theatremonkey seating plan. It is a bit tight for leg room and a moderately high stage, but the view was fine for me.
This show is in excellent shape. I must admit that I wasn't a huge fan when I saw this in NYC. I saw the movie musical version on a plane recently and it was watchable. I did prefer this new version. It's polished, just missing the strong ending which is what sets similar musicals like Heathers above the rest.
The strength is the cast. It's like they've taken many of my favourite actors from other shows and put them all on stage together. Tom Xander is fabulous as always. I got so used to seeing him in the Book of Mormon that I hadn't realised just how good he looks without the glasses. I won't name everyone, but you're spoilt for choice with beautiful women and men to catch your eye on stage. So nice to see Freddie Clements too, who was always one of my favourites in 42nd Street, but hasn't been so visible recently. He's bulked up a bit.
All in all, a fun 2 hours and 25 minutes, and I'll try and see this again before too long.

I really loved seeing this on Wednesday night. The staging is amazing, it's the first production I've seen in a while where it feels like someone spent more than £20 on the costumes and set.
Damien and Janis are SO well played, not a caricature of their movie roles at all. I really enjoyed Janis's Kate McKinnon energy. Karen and Gretchen are also so well played, really loveable.
I'll easily be returning to this, ****

I loved this when I saw it on Broadway in 2018 and have listened to the cast recording regularly since. So, I was a bit underwhelmed by the London version.
The new opening number is awful. I mean not as bad as the trash they used in the film, but still, why butcher It Roars like that?!
And then you get to Act 2 and they took out Stop and replaced it with a new song that didn't really work in my opinion. Oh and why remove "Do this thing"?
Other than that, I really enjoyed it. The cast was great and the staging worked well. Actually really liked the screens.
I'm also really happy that they didn't align this too much to film music wise.

Bloody hell, finally got to see it tonight and I am gutted! I don’t think I will be going back to see it again. It felt somewhat underwhelming and everything they added/changed did not sit well with me.
I saw the Broadway production in 2019 and listened to the recording many times, so I might be biased. However, why change something that is good already?
“It Roars” - what the actual F was that?
“Stop” - why drop it completely?!
The casting was mostly good. Cady, Aaron, Damien, The Plastics. Janice… not the best choice in my opinion.
Overall I would give it a 7/10, or a 4/5 (maybe a 3).

At least the songs are good
I used to despise the formula
But then you see something like Mean Girls
And realise how truly awful, tacky, cheap and ill conceived original songs in a musical can be
Everything that was right and worked in Legally Blonde
Is wrong and sinks in Mean Girls

Great show - if you're sixteen. Wasn't for me but once again in the minority judging by the screaming after each and every number. Pretty appalled to see patrons being allowed to bring entire bottles of wine into the auditorium which I presume added to the hysterical reaction. The Savoy remains the West End's worst managed Theatre.

I had the time of my LIFE this afternoon! I was slightly nervous after reading some of the comments, and whilst I can understand why some people might not necessarily enjoy it as much, I really did have such a good time.
The cast are absolutely INSANE!!!!!! Georgina Castle’s vocals are mind blowingly effortless. Charlie Burn’s Cady is flawless. Elena Skye’s song is absolutely one of my favourite bits. I will say her costumes weren’t my favourite, but she’s great! Grace was great as Karen and Elena was brilliant as Gretchen. But I have to say Tom Xander makes the production for me. His voice is so faultless, it literally sounds like a cast recording and his comic timing with everything was just spot on.
I really couldn’t point out a single person in the cast who doesn’t deserve to be there. And the show is just so much fun. I am a die hard Mean Girls fan in general and like many others, ADORED the broadway version from the bootlegs I saw and the cast recording. But this exceeded all expectations. I really do think everything that has been changed has been changed for the better. Apart from a few lyrics here and there, which I’m unsure as to why they’ve been changed because they don’t work anywhere near as well. Irregardless, still a ***** show from me. The cast, the songs, the stageing. LOVED IT!

I found the megamix really fun. I think it might just be a cultural thing to do at the moment with shows. Look at six, starlight, mean girls… I feel like it’s becoming something that people want. And maybe even just great promotion for the show since everyone is allowed to film it? And we were told as we were coming in there was an evacuation drill happening after the show. Nothing to worry about but they have to do them from time to time! I don’t recall the reference to a bear though? |
