I’m told some fan favourite songs have been cut… and lots of script changes to match the new film… hope they don’t make a car crash out of this I see what you did there

It seems like there is not a lot of buzz around this show. Anyone booked tickets already? I’ll be there June 7th I guess there are no names in this who can go on tv and do interviews to drum up some hype.. so hardly surprising it has no buzz.. but it’s pretty heavily sold for the first few weeks. Maybe they will wheel Tina Fey out She was on the one show today!

Was lucky enough to see the invited Dress tonight and it was fantastic.
The cast are incredible, particularly Georgina Castle and Tom Xander. Not a weak link amongst the entire cast.
Laugh out loud funny throughout and some killer vocals. I don’t remember the finer details of the Broadway version (though I loved it) but this felt fast and snappy. Did notice a fair few new songs though.
It’s gonna be a smash.
Nice to see Tina Fey too!

Can you tell us if it starts with It Roars (or What Ifs?) it's my favourite song but I fear it's on the chopping block!

Fearless and Stop have been cut, with Revenge Party being extended and the new ending to act one, and a song from the DC tryout replacing Stop (Blowing Up). It all works very very well and is well paced and tight! Nothing cut is missed

NO! You can't cut stop - every show needs an unnecessary tap number!

Well, this was great!! I’d seen the show 4 times before (twice with the OBC, once with most of the originals a year later, and once with the new Broadway cast the week it closed). They had revised the show when the new Broadway cast went in, and I didn’t like a lot of the revisions. London has even more differences to the original Broadway production but is stronger for it in pretty much every way. It’s tight, the new lyrics/stagings work, the new song works, having Revenge Party extended and close out act one works very well. Everyone is cast so well, it’s a really fun night out.
For a first preview, just a few missed lighting and sound cues and a few flubbed lines but it’s in really good shape.
It feels BIG for the Savoy stage. We actually have a musical with a bit ensemble that doesn’t feel like it’s crunching costs (I saw Sister Act this afternoon with only a handful of nuns to be seen).
Standouts for me - Charlie Burn (Cady), Georgina Castle (Regina), Tom Xander (Damien) and Zoe Rainey (Adult Women).
I’ll be back (if I can get a ticket!)

Are the orchestrations still musical theatre’y or do they have more of an influence from the movie?

Is the stage all screens? Or is there a physical set? Hopefully not the former, although it looks like that in photos from tonight

Does anyone know how much the programme was please? The only thing I couldn’t find a written price for.
Thanks!

Has A Cautionary Tale been renamed to Mean or is it a new song?

Does anyone know how much the programme was please? The only thing I couldn’t find a written price for. Thanks! Mine was £8. 'A Cautionary Tale' has been renamed 'Mean' - it's the same song. The vast majority of songs have had their lyrics rewritten, I think every song other than World Burn! The loss of Stop was a bad choice in my opinion - the new song is fine but doesn't add anything to the plot, Stop was stronger and much funnier.

This was…fine?
Some outstanding vocals from the leads. Really really liked the use of screens and minimal set. Very creative and engaging, and didn’t look cheap (as it could well have).
However… It left me feeling absolutely nothing. I like teen shows like Heathers and really enjoyed Cruel Intentions. This is, pardon the pun, a tad plastic, with none of the stakes or emotions hitting home. The finale of them all coming together was pretty flat (compared to the similar ending in Heathers).
Glad I saw it, won’t be coming back.

Got to sell this last night and was honestly really impressed! I've never been a huge fan of the cast recording, strangely thought the movie was better than expected, seeing it on stage was really good!
I think it's an average musical elevated by a super talented cast. Rush tickets were front row so I think being so immersed distracted from all the screens (which I'm normally not a big fan of). But yeah, really fun time! 4/5 from me.

Is there a lift in the stage? Looks like a lift from pictures I’ve seen… like they had in LB

The Savoy installing a floor lift only to use it twice haha
I suppose when you've got Broadway and movie money that's the kind of expense you can make.

Just came back from seeing this in a packed Savoy Theatre.
The show looks, sounds and feels good and tight. The cast has a lot of energy and sounds amazing. Tonight the crowd was very enthusiastic and a lot of the jokes were greeted with a loud applause.
The show was smooth with a few mishaps. The mic cues were sometimes a bit late and a few times people bumped into each other during the larger dance numbers. Nothing that can not be fixed and in my opinion this is normal during previews.
Elena Skye really blew the roof of the Theatre with her Janis, what a voice. The same for Georgina Castle who plays Regina George like Paris Hilton but with actual talent. Loved Tom Xander as Damian, very good timing comedy wise and an amazing voice. Grace Mouat was hilarious as Karen and never overplayed the dumbness in my opinion.
For the staging. It kind of looks cheap here and there but does what it has to do for the show. I wished they used more automated sets to make it all look a bit more professional and smooth.
Audience behaviour at this show is obivously a thing. Some people in the crowd found it really hard to put away their phone and stop chatting. Why would people come see a show and be this rude? Just enjoy the show.
Overall a really fun night with amazing voices and a very good cast. Hopefully they will release a UK cast album. This cast really deserves it.
