Darragh’s probably got his own tankard behind the crucible bar by now. Such a polite, young man. He'd never dream of jumping the queue.

Adam Denman from Guys and Dolls (Paris) to Guys and Dolls (Sheffield)! I think half the cast of 42nd Street moved to Paris after it closed to do Guys and Dolls. Would have been great if they could have all come up to Sheffield too.

Opens in less than three weeks. The world-famous Crucible Theatre somehow arranged to film the trailer on the only day it hasn't rained for the last three months! If it looks like one of the pro dances on Strictly Come Dancing, that's because the choreographer, Matt Flint, also works on Strictly.

Steady on, BB! It was the public dress rehearsal last night, and first preview tonight. Anyway, have you got your train travel sorted? Some of those stopping services take over 90 minutes to travel 30 miles. 😉

Looks like it will have to be the 22:47 which actually takes a mere 88 mins to travel 30 miles. Those two minutes will make all the difference!

I'll tell you what, BurlyBeaR, the lower foyer of the world-famous Crucible Theatre is *the* place to sit from about 5.00pm on show nights. It almost makes a 90 minute train journey burlybearable! All the cast, wearing a selection of loose fitting leisurewear, come and buy their tea from the cafe. And Bob Hastie is wearing a linen shirt...in December. He hasn't even paired it with a sweater!

I’m more than familiar with the facilities at the Crucible thank you TallPaul and can vouch for the iced bakewell traybake from said cafe. Some will remember when that area was the Cues shop, not selling snooker cues but a selection of giftables, books, Nicky-Nacky-Noos, greetings cards, and other oddments. It was always worth a browse.

Second preview. I thought this was fantastic. Huge set with similarities to Sky’s Edge in scale. Double revolve used continually throughout (the set is reconfigured about six times during the overture alone), fabulous costumes, (orchestra also in costume) and a superb cast. Kadiff Kirwan as Sky Masterson OMG 🥰😍🤗 I think he could have persuaded most of the audience to go to Havana with him...I’d have offered to buy the tickets. Gorgeous and charming AF. The whole thing is big, expensive looking and very classy.
It’s a big 🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸 from me.
ETA: run time is 3 hours inc interval. Watch out for start times, most evenings are 7.15 and there’s a rogue 7pm in there somewhere.

I’ve got tickets booked for the week after New Year as it’s a nightmare getting into Sheffield the last couple of weeks before Christmas. A friend went the first week and said it was terrible, but he didn’t like Kinky Boots, so say no more. 🥴🤣
