I have a feeling that Luke Bayer is also cast in this. How/Why?

The How is going for an audition and getting the part. The Why is going for the audition because you want the part Simple Did you expect that everyone would just magically know he went for an audition or wanted a part? I imagine the poster wanted more detail on where or how you heard about it or what evidence there was and where it was.

It's exciting that Max Martin is finally getting a jukebox musical that he has power over and it's very sad people don't know who he is.
I wish, though, that it were a collaboration between Scott Bradlee from Post Modern Jukebox as that would be an interesting spin on his songs and they would make them truly theatrical - as well as add another marketing spin.
The "what happened next" thing is an interesting ploy that worked for Wicked - and if we're dealing with an iconic character such as Juliet - I can see that working.
This will need very clever marketing behind it - but it may seem perfect for the social media age... nothing helps a show more like word of mouth so it will be fun to track its development.

Until yesterday I have never heard of him and I can only recall a couple of his songs. I am happily sad

You can see why the producers thought this could work, but they fell at the first hurdle - the title!

Interested to see what this show is all about and delighted it's another "Manchester Gets It First" musical. I'll deffo be booking for the Opera House; if Bat is anything to go by will be half the price of West End!

Have to say I am intrigued based on the arrangement of the sample track online. It’s a shame it’s another jukebox but I am pleased to see something new heading for the west end. New productions seem to be in abundance on Broadway and are few and far between here now. It makes financial sense to start somewhere small BUT that often means if it’s successful it transfers to a larger theatre without really adapting to that space, and the expectation of ‘west end’ production values is lowered as a result. We also seem to be relying a lot on small spaces these days at the detriment of people taking risks in larger theatres. They’re doing the right thing by opening in Manchester to build some buzz prior.
Agree with what others are saying though that this is likely to either take off through word of mouth or to dive. I’ll definitely be booking out of intrigue.

The Standard appears to give away the basic plot and some of the numbers:
"& Juliet imagines a life after Romeo and features songs including Britney’s "Oops...I Did It Again", Backstreet Boys’ "Everybody", The Weekend’s "I Can’t Feel My Face" and Ellie Goulding’s "Love Me Like You Do".
In the final scene of Shakespeare’s play, instead of taking her own life, Juliet decides to pick up and go to Paris with the Nurse and her friends".
Ooooooo @ryan, Jane can reprise her iconic role as the Nurse!

I’m going for an early preview ticket in Manchester. Hopefully the audience early on won’t be the traditional hen party crowd who can turn up and cause a lot of mither as I’ve experienced in a number of the Jukebox musicals. I’m really intrigued in how they are going to use the songs within the plot, particularly the Britney songs. Whatever happens, I’m sure there will be a good atmosphere once the music starts.

In the final scene of Shakespeare’s play, instead of taking her own life, Juliet decides to pick up and go to Paris with the Nurse and her friends". That really does sound awful - as much as I was excited about Miriam getting a leading role, each thing I read makes me less excited and leaves me thinking "who on earth thought that was a good idea for a plot?!"

There will be many discounts in the beginning. No one will be paying full price for at least a few months. I’t will try to get punters in. It will be at the half price booth and theatremonkey will have lots of discounts on his site.

How appropriate a former understudy ‘& Peggy’ goes on to star in ‘& Juliet’.

How appropriate a former understudy ‘& Peggy’ goes on to star in ‘& Juliet’. She was a cover for all the three sisters (and covered Anjelica much more often than other two) so the joke kinda fells flat. P. S. Don’t like jokes based on people being covers/understudies

Don’t like jokes based on people being covers/understudies I took this joke to be reference to Peggy going on in 42nd Street. If that was intended, then it is a BRILLIANT reference and does not fall flat but soars!!! PS I love jokes based on people being covers/understudies

Don’t like jokes based on people being covers/understudies Well aware Miriam was cover for all 3 sisters (and I saw her perform as both Angelica and Peggy/Maria). The post was not at all based on her being an understudy, just more pointing out the coincidence that she was previously playing a character colloquially named ‘& Peggy’ and is going on to play a character called ‘& Juliet’.

No such deals at the Shaftesbury that I can see.
Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom must be programming this cos they've priced the entire stalls and dress circle at £85 bar the back 4 rows!
Only in the Grand Circle, and only at the back of that is there anything under £50! LOL. LOL. LOL.
I mean, they must WANT this to fail: "Springtime for Romeo!"
Unless Tom Hiddleston and Andrew Scott engage in a rap battle for Juliet's heart, they can bloody forget it! :0

The concept doesn't sound good enough for me to want to pay full price so far in advance!
