Sad this isn’t extending. A summer filler for the GL to be announced any day now. Unfortunately it’s not selling which is sad…..

Sad this isn’t extending. A summer filler for the GL to be announced any day now. Is this likely to close before 20 June? Which is when we will be arriving in London from the States.

That is really sad to hear. If not extending, is it coming off early? I have booked for 19th June and hope it holds out until then.

Just announced the return of The Wizard of Oz as part of its UK tour from 15 August for 4 weeks Hopefully this means that SATSE will complete its scheduled run til 3rd August The website now shows 'Until 3rd August' so looks like it is doing as planned, just not extending. It's a shame as I really love this show but not a surprise as it's not been selling well

That seems a very fast turnaround for a set as large as SATSE to load out and get a new show (even one like OZ) loaded in.

I mean, obviously they’ll be able to do it. I was just saying that seems incredibly quick for that set.

Possibly why Oz is opening on the Thursday, as that gives them nearly 2 weeks which is definitely manageable

Considering Oz is getting out of most venues on a Saturday night and up for a show on Tuesday 3 days later, it's more than enough time.

It's not the get-in that will be the problem, but the get-out. You can't just take a wrecking ball to all that Grade II* listed concrete. 🙂

I read that as all ticket (all seats) are £20! 😂 But I managed to get a great seat in this morning’s Rush so I’ll be seeing this tonight following The Human Body this afternoon. Hope it’s a good as most of this thread suggests!

So was this planned to be open ended or planned to be limited run?
Semi rhetorical question as I guess nobody other than the producers know. Wonder how long cast were initially contracted for.
Anyway, I don't think this is selling nearly as badly as some online prophets of doom are decreeing. Advance seating plans for next few weeks look much healthier than Crazy For You ever did at same theatre! There are also no decent advance offers yet....

I think it was probably booked with the option to be open ended if advance sales looked strong, but guessing they weren't enough and it was quickly confirmed to be six months. Agreed that this will comfortably make the six months though, there will be empty seats but don't think it's going to be losing money hand over fist every performance like CFY seemed to be near the end of its run.

Totally agree! Been watching the seating plans as quite fancy an LWT decent seat dynamic pricing down on the day, but hasn't really kicked in yet (assume as no need....). Front central stalls pretty solidly priced currently!

As I mentioned above I got a Rush ticket for this yesterday - great seat in centre front block of the stalls. So pleased to finally see it after seeing so much positivity about it on here and elsewhere. I’ll avoid repetition by reading back through the thread ahead of posting in detail, but wow, I absolutely loved it. Will certainly be listening to the cast recording later (and probably needing to make a return visit at some point!).
The cast were uniformly outstanding, all so relatable and the casting team have done a brilliant job finding those who are both great singers AND actors. The set, the way they wove the three stories together, and the songs - just beautiful!
And in terms of ticket sales - granted last night was a Sat evening performance, but it was pretty full. The almost full house gave them a much-deserved standing ovation at the end. The actress playing Joy had even more tears in her eyes than I did.
