Esang De Torres found this kid on Youtube. So good. If you do not believe me go to 3.00 minutes. Currently 12 years old.
Positive replies only please.

She's not bad, but it is an exaggeration to say she's the best child singer out there, in my opinion.

What do you mean by "surprise surprise"? Cause I'm sensing you just want to argue. And I'm not going to. I politely expressed my opinion.

I found another one
Esang de Torres as Aretha Franklin. You saw her here first,
unless you are from the Philippines in which case you already know her.

For the love of God, please tell me that child is not wearing black face in that last video? This is 2019, why are we posting racist claptrap like that. Don't care how talented she is.

I actually think kids should be able to dress up like anyone, if it's a positive celebration. That is equality. Only people who separate based on race and clearly put certain races above others see this as racism. Equality starts where your ideas end. Because how on earth can she dress up like any other celebrity/star she imitates, and only a black star should be excluded? I don't do exclusion based on race.

Conmenting on blackface which is a hugely racist act is in no way equivalent to saying she shouldn’t dress up as anyone. It’s wrong regardless of the context.

Nice topic! This girl is indeed quite talented, but there's another girl, Angelica Hale who has an incredible sincerity when she sings:

You can celebrate inclusion without doing something that is historically racist and used to demean black people. If you don’t understand that then there isn’t much more I can say.

Actually, we can't celebrate inclusion as long as there's people demanding racial separation on message boards till the end of time, like you.
That will never be the road to equality. Do you really think the intention of this girl imitating her idol (the basis of this show) has anything to do with how she sees black people? There comes a point when choosing to treat people differently based on race really isn't appropriate anymore.

And I find it greatly offensive that you assume I’m promoting racial separation when I’ve done nothing of the sort. I’m not continuing this debate with you because clearly you’re making defences against arguments that haven’t been made.

You might not realize you're doing that because you probably have the best intentions.
What would your vision of "inclusion" in this case be? Would it be putting a disclaimer message on the screen of this tv show that says "unfortunately this star is of a certain race, so she can't be treated like normal stars, so this little girl, although she was dressed up like and transformed into every one else, can't be dressed up as this particular star, because one race is worth more than another"?
Talking about making racial separation as big as possible.......that has nothing to do with equality. And on a deeper level, should we continue to teach our kids that they should always be treated like victims? That races are not equal? How do you see the road to equality?
But it seems that we disagree, so let's agree to disagree and stay on topic.

I have no problem with the kid singing Aretha, as most of her songs are not related to racial experience but universal love/empowerment songs etc. We've had the discussion before, but as long as a song isn't about racial experiene, even if it was made famous by a person of colour, generally there is no reason why they can't sing it, even (especially kids) mirror the vocal style in 'tribute' isn't a racist issue.
But Blackface is always a racist issue, and always wrong there's really zero debate to be had there.

There is indeed no debate. The choice is "do you want black people to be treated differently/not as equals indefinitely" or "do you want black people to be treated as equals, without disclaimers".
In my opinion a disclaimer on the tv screen like I described above, or in other words, different treatment for different races is always a racist issue. Zero debate there.
I truly believe that the latter option is the key and that it's only a matter of time till that becomes the norm. Some people are just not there yet and are still too much stuck in a cocoon of racial separation and victimization.

You don’t need to emulate a skin colour to pay tribute. It’s really as simple as that.

It's the point of that show. It's called "Your face sounds familiar". All performances and looks are meant to be exact copies.
A disclaimer here would be simply racist.

The face and the voice match the artist, because both are in the name of the show. What do you not understand about that?
A week earlier she was painted white and orange and did Cyndi Lauper. The week before that she was painted Parsi/Indian Persian heritage, to look exactly like Freddie Mercury. Next week she might be yellow or green.

Using make up and paints to deliberately alter someone’s skin colour just isn’t acceptable in 2019. In our society and our culture it is known as a form of racism and for you to argue otherwise... I really just think you need to re-evaluate. Clearly it is acceptable elsewhere as this show was made and broadcast. But that doesn’t mean the users of this board share that ideology nor welcome such videos being posted (I know you didn’t). I just see no reason why anyone should ever feel the need to change the colour of their skin to pay tribute or emulate anyone else. Our biggest icons all have unique styles and iconic looks that need no introduction anyway, negating any form of justification for a skin colour alteration.

Carly Rose Sonenclar. She was cast in Wonderland on Broadway a year prior to appearing on The X Factor but I think her voice was stunning for her age.
