Just wondered if anyone was aware of this or had seen it?
I checked out the OCR as it opened very recently on Broadway. Apparently an out of town try out was panned but it then gained massive traction through it's OCR before finally making it to Broadway.
The recording is very enjoyable. Reminds me a bit of Eugenius. Also has a slight style of Busted or McFly. Can definitely imagine it at The Other Palace or similar.
Would be interested to hear what the show is like! Before this week I had never heard of it....

Wow! That review made Brantley's look tame.

I saw the off broadway production when I was in NYC last year .... definitely not a show for me but I appreciated the enthusiasm I guess 😄

This show is marketing hard to teenagers but what I want to know is can it survive on teenagers alone? I say it is a hard no but, I might be surprised. The youth fans can get scary obsessed with shows.

My teenage daughter who is a dancer, singer and actress keeps raving about this along with other shows that are still to ‘cross the pond’ such as MEAN GIRLS.She corresponds with other young fans of musical theatre around the UK/USA and listens to new shows via social media and the web.She is also open-minded about older shows and in fact of all the close to fifty different professional musicals she has seen, the recent 42nd Street in London is her clear favourite and we saw it four times together.

Theatre was packed last night with a very mixed demographic. The reaction was amazing.
The show is great. It kinda reminds me of shows like Loserville and Eugenius, mixed in with a bit of Little Shop of Horrors. The plot is a bit strange but the score is great. After act one I was a bit unsure but act two is where everything really worked for me.
Michael in the Bathroom was the standout number for me - so funny and George Salazar gave a great performance. I can see him being recognised with a tony nom.

A fascinating article on the machinations of Broadway politics and the power of strong ‘lobbying’ publicists.

Troy Iwata, an understudy for the show, has posted on his Instagram story that fans have been asking what his favorite sexual position is. I know the fans are intense for this show but that crosses the line.

Caught the Sunday Matinee. (4/19/19)
I think me and my wife are out of the age range for this show because neither of us liked it. The music and lyrics were mediocre and the book is not really good either. As a 70 year old trapped in a 38 year old body, the bright light design did bother me just a little bit, so if your sensitive take an aspirin before hand.
Since it was a Sunday Matinee, there were A LOT of teenage fans in the house, most of them acted good but I swear I heard some whispered singing along and a few phones did go off but it didn't bother me.
So, don't believe the hype, it is not a good show and frankly I'm surprised it even made it to Broadway.

Is this likely to come over soon? Unlikely. Amateur rights are available though.
