It wasn't that long ago the nation was at "uproar" at her behaviour on Loose Women, she was not allowed on the show for a while and her solo tour was cancelled.
How things change!

I was at The Lowry yesterday for Equus. Perhaps The Thunder Girls was programmed too late for the current brochure, but as this thread began life in February why are there still no flyers in the racks? There aren't even any posters on the way to spend a penny.
I can't face looking at the website to check, but maybe it's selling that well they don't need to bother!!!

You have to love the chutzpah of the PR person who considers Beverley Callard a "national treasure".

Looks pretty much sold out, but in checking that I’ve only just realised this is in at the Quays and not the Lyric.
It still seems very odd that these “national treasures” have been brought together for 8 perfs in a small theatre. I can only assume this is some sort of try-out and that bigger things are planned? It doesn’t make any sense otherwise.

I'm undecided yet whether to book for the Saturday matinee or not as I'm watching MAME at Hope Mill in the evening. I think further casting news and seeing the offering at the Royal Exchange may swing my decision. So if I've got the dates right, it's either this or Macbeth. No contest, surely!

V. disappointed with you, david! You've gone all cultured and highbrow. 🙂 What have you got against, Bev, Col, Mina and Caz?

V. disappointed with you , david . You've gone all cultured and highbrow! 🙂 What have you got against, Bev, Col, Mina and Caz? I'll admit, I was seriously tempted to book for the Lowry, but the Sat 28th matinee had sold out. Oh well, never mind. It's the ladies loss not having me there.

Melanie Blake is on BBC Breakfast tomorrow. Well there's certainly no need to promote the Lowry run as there isn’t a seat to be had. So what’s the betting this is to announce some more venues?

It's actually a really interesting chat. Starts at 3:06:27, but be quick as news programmes disappear after 24 hours.
The story is that all the male producers it was offered to declined to get involved. If the tour sells as well as The Lowry run, they may all come to regret their short-sightedness!

They did announce the tour then. Where’s it going? As for selling out the Lowry, they’ve sold out the Quays at the Lowry. Different ballgame.

So you now expect me to cover the North West, BB, in addition to Yorkshire and the Humber? 😉
No venues at this stage, just that there will be a tour, which I accept doesn't actually mean anything, but Melanie Blake strikes me as a woman who makes things happen!

Nice interview with Mina Anwar in ‘Northern Life’ magazine about this musical. The Lowry run is described as a preview run so it sounds like a try-out? Mins says she is currently directing and choreographing a new musical called The Dolly Mixtures at South Shield’s Customs House. The story is about a troupe who raised thousands for charity appearing in working men’s clubs and never took a penny for themselves.Sounds interesting.

Ever since this sold out and I can’t see it, I have a strange desire to see it 😐
To be more specific I have a strange desire to see Colleen Nolan “la la la” (©Steve Allen) her way through it.

I'm still completely perplexed as to how it sold out on very little information other than the inclusion of Beverly Callard, limited press and a very bad photoshop image.

Unfortunately not. I couldn’t get a ticket for either of the Sat shows so I’m at the REX for Macbeth and then off to see Tracie Bennett at Hope Mill instead.

Seemingly not. I’m completely puzzle how this managed to sell out with basically no info and little press. Oddest development. Still slightly suspicious of the amount of seats ‘sold’ before any real announcement earlier this year.

I would imagine that as soon as Callard was announced it was all over the Corrie fan sites and that would have shifted a fair few.Add Nolan into the mix and that would have done the trick because of that dreadful tv programme she does every day. The fact that she’s never acted in her life won’t make one jot of difference to the Loose Women demographic.
