Would love to see Sophie Okonedo do a play over here as well as Idris Elba.
Also would like to see Suranne Jones, Keeley Hawes, Sue Johnston and Alison Steadman do a new show

Highly unlikely but I'd love to see Gary Oldman onstage one of those days the most.. My top choice. And Maggie Smith! Let her comeback with smth smashing! I remember her saying a couple of years ago that she'd love to do some theatre.. I expected everyone knocking her down with offers by the time she finished that very phrase but sadly it's still not happening. What a shame! Hugh Laurie and Peter Capaldi (too busy being The Doctor, I know!) doing some comedy on stage would be nice too ) Capaldi hasn't done much stage - The LadyKillers was the first thing for about 15 years I think. I remember Hugh Laurie in Ben Elton's Gasping at the Haymarket about 20 years ago. And I'm so old I saw Gary Oldman in The Country Wife at the Ryal Exchange though that was notable for Alex Jennings in, I think, his first leading role |

I would of loved to of seen George Cole, Anthony Hopkins, Bob Hoskins, George Peppard, Marlon Brando and Edward Woodward (apparently a brilliant singer) but unfortunately these have come to pass now sadly.

Top of my list is Maggie Smith, but I think those days are behind her now. I want to see Penelope Wilton - I'm sure she'll be back sooner rather than later on the west end (I missed her recent venture). I'd love to see Sarah Lancashire do a straight up play. Every time I see Anne Marie Duff in something I always think 'Sarah Lancashire would be brilliant in this'. Both brilliantly gifted and presumably the ones destined to be the 'go to dames' of the day in 30 years or so. Totally agree with all of those suggestions. Would love to see Maggie Smith back on the stage but I agree that's quite unlikely now. After her recent Olivier win, I hope Penelope Wilton comes back to the West End! She'd be amazing in either a comedy or drama. I'd like to see her to a revival of 'The Lady in the Van'. Sarah Lancashire would be amazing too - she's a great actress. Put her in a very good and dramatic play and she'd be great. I wouldn't mind seeing her in a musical either. Katherine Kelly is another star I'd like to see and judging by her role in 'The Sound of Music Live', she'd be good in a musical |

Met with a few of the people at the Donmar last year who showed me around etc and told me all about Katherine Kelly and City of Angels. They both sounded amazing! |

I don't have anything against 'celebrities' on stage in general, but usually it's blindingly obvious when someone has been picked as a 'name' and not because they were the best for the role. Also, I do tend to find that audiences are a bit more lively (and not necessarily in a good way) when there's a big star in the cast. Although obviously this isn't always the case!
I love Beverley Knight. In my eyes, despite not being the strongest actress in the worlds, she can do no wrong when it comes to musical theatre! THAT VOICE and a general likability on stage means that I always enjoy watching her in shows. I also thought Ronan Keating was okay in Once, although having seen the spectacular David Hunter beforehand it was easy to pick a favourite all round performance. Additionally, I enjoyed Matt Cardle in Memphis way more than I expected too, and wouldn't mind seeing him in something else either. He was rumoured to be joining the cast of Murder Ballad, but obviously that didn't end up working out.
In terms of celebrities (or well known actors at least) with a bit more of a grounding in theatre, I've really enjoyed David Tennant, Rory Kinnear and Sian Phillips in loads of things.
I'd like to see Ben Whishaw in something. I alway miss him when he does plays in London.
I'd also like to see James Marsden do a musical! Why has this not happened yet? He's got a gorgeous voice, surely he's been asked.

I wish there was a YouTube video of it. The whole cast was just fantastic. Hadley Fraser and Tam Mutu, Rosalie Craig and Rebecca Trehearn... there wasn't a weak link IMO. |

Also, I don't know if she can act or not, but I'd like to see Ashley Robers do a musicial too. She's got the dance moves, voice and great personality but i dont know about her acting skills? Not to mention her looks - so beautiful!!

Nicole Scherzinger should play Evita. Now I'm not suggesting that Nicole Scherzinger can't hold a tune well enough but wouldn't 'Evita' be a *teeny* bit out of her reach? To be fair, in 'Cats' with all of her trilling it took her about half an hour to get through 'Memory' and she only schlepped in for that one song. Can you imagine how long it would take her to warble through the whole of 'Evita'? They'd only be able to schedule in one performance a week. |

Stunt casting is all well and good if it gets extra people through the door, but if you alienate your core theatre fan base through the process then you are really going to struggle. Can only hope a very strong supporting cast are involved.
