Last Thursday evening, Danny Knott was on as Frankie (only his second performance as second cover) and I managed to pick up a late front row seat.
The new cast has settled in well now. This show is rather like a machine, but no matter. The music is always good.
I was impressed with Danny and very glad that he's got to go on. I was less impressed his costume designer as his clothes were all about two sizes too big for him, but I rather expect he was slipping into whatever was available (but seriously if anyone is reading this, please don't hamper him with such baggy clothes).
Hope to see Danny again anyway (and as a side note, very glad that Joey Cornish is now the official alternate as well).

If they aren’t investing in new costumes then it could suggest as danielwhit said above that the show is preparing for closure 🤷♀️

They are advertising for a back stage role for a years contract, so maybe a sign it’s not ending early next year?

Many/most theatre jobs are fixed term contracts, but it isn’t a guarantee of employment for the whole period. If a show closes, they’ll be given notice and that’s that. Better to be properly staffed and pay off a few weeks notice than be short handed.

To be fair, it's had a lot of success and a pretty decent run here in London.
Firstly there was that huge run at the Prince Edward Theatre.
Then it returned and Ben Joyce was discovered and it run for quite some time at the Trafalgar Studios.
Maybe it's just time?

Wonder what will replace it Another Jukebox show from across the pond. Oh no, really? Disappointing. I can't even think of one, maybe the Neil Diamond one? I was hoping for a good play to come back to Trafalgar. And it's odd to end a run on a Thursday!

Maybe London has (just) had its fill of Jersey Boys for now. Give it a few years and then bring it back, fresh and reading for a new, upcoming and younger audience who may be familiar with the songs but have no idea who Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons were.

2 and a half years is a pretty solid run, not sure if Jagged Little Pill will run that long if it indeed the replacement.

Wouldn't surprise me if A Beautiful Noise went in... a pity though I also think it will be A Beautiful Noise which is a bummer. Totally wishing it was Jagged Little Pill but that appears to be as dead as last Christmas Eve.

Wasn't The Cher Show looking to go into the WE?
Would be good timing seeing as she's got that Xmas album coming out and will probably do some promotional appearances soon.

'Beautiful Noise' makes great sense for that theatre, where it's able to contact previous patrons with 'If you liked Jersey Boys you'll love this...'

Didn't say it was a Broadway musical though, did he... No, across the pond, so US somewhere, but gotta say, jukeboxes are usually not my bag, so I am both clueless as to what it could be and not especially excited about it either! Might be different if it was JLP.
