Before Daniel Evans took over there was an article on what musicals they were working on, and all have now happened except one which was something like Dames at sea I think. But with Daniel taking over I suspect that's all out the window anyway

I agree - finding the show that is right for your theatre/members/audience is never easy. And it is complicated by the restrictions placed on certain venues by rights holders. For instance, Oliver! is fine for the Oxford Playhouse but not available for the New Theatre - just a matter of metres away. It is the same with The Wizard of Oz. Quite often, these are legacies from years ago - the reasons for the restrictions have long since been forgotten - but they are still in place.
Chichester are the sort of place where they can, occasionally, take a risk on a lesser-known piece - because they have a very loyal audience. Few other theatres would have done Mack and Mabel.

Although Mack and Mabel is less of a risk for Chichester with it's core demographic

That was rather my point - Chichester has the flexibility to take on shows that other theatres couldn't even consider. They also have the potential to cast a big name or two that would help boost a lesser title.

Indeed, they did M&M coz Michael Ball wanted to do it. Be funny if it is Fiorella! I hope they do a Minerva musical too.

I bet there’s a regurgitation of something DE has previously mounted at Sheffield....

I've tended to prefer recent Minerva musicals (which can be new work) to revivals in the main house, and certainly wouldn't want to see any of those suggested above - though have no ideas of my own to put forward. And surely even if DE does continue to rely on re-staging work from Sheffield, he'll eventually exhaust this option?

Putting my money on Oklahoma! As the pro-rights are unavailable. Pretty disappointing as it was last staged at CFT in 2009. Don’t think DE will want to revive his big successes from Sheffield (Oliver, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes), just yet.

I think everyone in the UK should be banned from staging Oklahoma! until we've had Daniel Fish's production transfer from New York.

I was really hoping that 'sexy oklahoma' would transfer from New York at some point, so i hope its not that as if this transfers theres no way we'd also get Daniel Fish's production

If it was going to be Oklahoma can I please put in a request for Robert Fairchild to be in it. After all him and his doggie are currently over here so they could stay for the summer.

Gotta be Oklahoma! And on their current form, no-one outside of Chichester will see it! Where have all the tours/transfers gone?
