A little worrying as we are seeing it next week (after rebooking because of COVID in December ...)... How long are they normally out of action for does anyone know ? How long is a piece of string….

40 minute show-stop at the top of Act 2 last night (curtain got stuck going up), followed by a cancellation of the rest of the performance. Satine's trapeze wasn't working, so she entered from stage right. Also, no aerialists in the Act 1 finale. Unfortunate they had to cancel all shows between last Saturday and Wednesday evening due to COVID, and then cancel the show halfway through yesterday due to technical difficulties.

And now cancelled tonight's performance due to COVID ... Wonder if it's COVID or just addressing issues from last night ... Doesn't look likely that I'll see it tomorrow as a result

I wonder if the COVID cases are actually among the technical staff rather than the cast. Would potentially explain yesterday's shortcomings too

They are super late to announce too, ideally I would prefer to know now if it's likely to not run tomorrow so I can jump at some rush tickets for something else at 10am. I get why they do it ... Nobody wants to cancel a show as it's money down the drain but it's a nightmare for someone who isn't close to the big smoke !!

From what I’ve heard- the major covid absences are backstage staff and not the cast. There is a huge dearth of crew available after the pandemic and so no one to cover when people are off. It’s a pretty bad state of affairs going forward.

I can’t help but feel that they all dodged a bullet…especially if they get a full refund. They may have managed to see something miles better for less money.

Saw this last night by some miracle (honesty it's been like the hokey cokey but with COVID)
I have absolutely no criticisms whatsoever and all of its shortcomings that people on here have pointed out didn't get to me in the same way.
Both Jamie and Lissi were both believable in their roles and Jamie wasn't the wet lettuce that I'd built him up to be in my mind
It's an exhausting show to watch but for me this was a good thing. Absolutely loved the spectacle of it all. Probably not a life changing 5 star show (more like 4 and a half) for me but everything I wanted it to be. Crowd were well behaved too which was a concern. I think had we not have listened to the soundtrack a lot so were aware of the song changes it may have been jarring to watch but for us it completely worked.

interested in going tomorrow, is it worth holding on for a potentially reduced single ticket on the day or just to buy now instead? Or do I try for standing .. Cheers:))

Cheers:)) I went a couple of weeks ago (wed mat) and asked for a single seat an hour before the show and ended up paying full price for the ticket. There were no deals / discounts from the box office sadly despite there being plenty of empty seats. You might have more luck.

I figure it's mid October.
God let us get two new leads.

Any ideas on who may be leaving / staying? I believe confirmed leaving so far are Jamie (Christian), Adam (s/b Christian), Timmika (La Chocolat), Amy (Nini/Arabia cover). Maybe more but I can't remember any

I would have hoped for Adam to be promoted to first cast. If he's leaving, does that mean he has something else cooking?

It needs a new book and score as well, if they're in the mood to fix things! 🤣

What’s gone so wrong here then? Saw this on Broadway and Satine and Christian were sizzling?

What’s gone so wrong here then? Saw this on Broadway and Satine and Christian were sizzling? Who did you see there? When it first opened, there was also lots of moaning about no chemistry between Karen Olivo and Aaron Tveit which seems to be recreated here. I didn't mind Jamie Bogyo who got so soundly trashed here on the forum (maybe I have a heart for underdogs, see Hadestown!), but Liisi LaFontaine was far too much nice girl next door for my taste and not enough cabaret superstar and "sparkling diamond" of a world-famous venue. I haven't seen anyone else live yet, so can't really compare. My personal guess is that Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor just brought something very special to each part in the movie that no one else has been able to recreate and perhaps CAN'T recreate because a lot hinged on the intimate shots of the movie and the very special cinematography - like that one moment where the camera pans out from the room they're in to gradually include more and more of Paris by night and finally fireworks, pure cheese but so wonderful.

Derek Klena as Christian - he was great in Anastasia too. Ashley Loren Satine, The UKs Declan Bennett was the Duke. Looked far too hot to be the Duke imo. Isn’t the Duke meant to be a slime ball?

I saw at Tveit/Olivo and Tveit/Loren. Both great matches, but gotta say Ashley Loren WELL deserved that promotion to main, she was stunning.
