I feel like this is Rob Houcham territory right? He's about as close to the Broadway casting as weve got. Not that they ajways try and copy. He'd be perfect!

I totally agree and he’s getting less twinky and more twunky now.
Rob is thumbs up for me as long as he lives in the gym.
Cute guy and sensational talent!

Ad has just been put out for stage crew with opening Oct/Nov 2021 so looks like it's still on track.

They would be crazy not to cast Rob Houchen in this. Vocally and physically he just is Christian. I imagine his ‘Come What May’ might have the ‘Love Changes Everything’ affect and send his career sky rocketing.

I agree Rob would be perfect - his voice is sublime.
(Anyway know what he's up to this Summer which means he can't come back for the Les Mis Concert?)

Slightly off topic, but one thing I found strange from what clips I've seen from the Broadway production was that despite Christian being an Englishman, Aaron Tveit spoke in an American accent. Was this because he couldn't really do a British accent? Which is strange because he seemed to do fairly decent one in the 'Les Mis' film. Or did they change Christian's background from being British to American? If this is the case, I assume the West End production will have him being British again.

I think they wanted to have the contrast of the 'posh' English accent of the Duke and the 'common' American for Christian. They definitely had a line somewhere about him being from America if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone who saw the Hallmark Christmas movie that Aaron did last year will know that unfortunately, Aaron can't do a British accent! As handsome and otherwise talented as he obviously is 😁
Another vote for Rob Houchen here. Love him.

Isn't the Piccadilly too small for Moulin Rouge. The set design is huge. Yes I don't know why they've gone for the Piccadilly. It is also fairly grotty and very cramped, especially in the circles. And Stalls no central aisle so you can't have an aisle and a good view. It's really not a theatre for tall people. From pics I have seen of the set would be much better somewhere like the Dominion.

I'm so excited for this one! I am hoping the set here looks as spectacular as the US one

I’m very intrigued to see it there I must say. They should rename the picc the Baz Luhrmann theatre after strictly ballroom as well... Honestly quite excited for them to make the whole space feel very immersive and intimate. Alternatively would have been nice to have seen it at the Apollo Victoria and Wicked had gone somewhere a bit smaller

The Piccadilly has the feel of the Al Hirschfeld, its feels quite intimate on broadway. I think it would get lost in a barn like the dominion

It needs to feel like the ‘Moulin Rouge’ hence the pokey theatre. I wonder if they’ll try and flog overpriced steak dinners and sell tacky souvenirs whilst you watch the can can?

Also the Windmill Theatre nearby, but guess the producers didn’t pick the theatre because of that, just nice and very coincidental.

Do we think that they will now try to get Moulin Rouge open as soon as possible with the news that the Piccadilly is now free?

Who would everyone like to see as the leads? I think Nadim Naaman would play Christian extremely well.

Who would everyone like to see as the leads? The most talented people and not casting someone for the sake of wokeness.

I'd love to see Raza Jaffrey as Christian. He is SO hot and SO talented. He was fabulous in Bombay Dreams and SMASH.

I'd love to see Raza Jaffrey as Christian. He is SO hot and SO talented. He was fabulous in Bombay Dreams and SMASH. He's great but he's 45, too old for a wide-eyed hopelessly romantic young writer 😀 Rob Houchen or Bradley Jaden for Christian. I'm struggling for Satine though. I can think of dozens of people who I don't want to be cast but no one's leaping out. Maybe Samantha Barks if she wasn't busy building ice castles.

Satine won’t be White British .. they’ve set a precedent with Satine in NYC that they won’t be changing.
