An American in Paris is aiming for somewhere with at least 500 seats more than the Adelphi...

Also, if you add in the fact that "dynamic pricing" technology means they can change seat prices on a whim, nobody misses out, as cheap balcony prices can become cheap upper circle ones if required. Theatres can thus sell a few cheap seats AND keep the wage bill down by closing sections at will. But if you get to the point where loads of very cheap seats are being bought by people in the know that they will be upgraded, it makes good commercial sense to close this opportunity because a significant number of the bargain purchasers might then pay a more fair price.

Currently Kinky Boots is covering its costs, it is not making money on top of that currently but it can run when covering its costs whilst it boosts its fanbase further and gets the Summer crowd in, which it is sure too.

I very much doubt any big Broadway show will do a limited run should they transfer. An American in Paris needs a big theatre so somewhere like Drury Lane or Dominion would be ideal

But The Bodyguard is at the Domion and I'm hoping that will extend??

Fanbases do not sell keep shows going. Tourists keep shows going. Also, a show that is currently on tour is lined up for Drury Lane.

Also, a show that is currently on tour is lined up for Drury Lane. Blood Brothers? Hurrah! Joking, I'm guessing Mary Poppins?

Poppins is on tour until January so it would make sense if they transfer from February after Charlie closes in January.

I'd like to see Poppins come in, I love the music and the show looks stunning (I have never seen it in person though!)... it would make sense as the Drury Lane does have a history, especially recently, of doing these big family musicals. It would be nice to see it come back to London! Also, if it comes in and Zizi stays on, it gives another Strallen another chance at an Olivier! If she makes the eligibility next year, depending when Poppins would open, it will put her up there with Sheridan Smith, Beverley Knight, Amber Riley (and whomever is Deena), Audra McDonald (dependant on category placement), Glenn Close (if eligible) and Gina Beck. Looks to be shaping up to be a good list of Leading Ladies this time round peeps!

Could be Mary Poppins, or maybe Hairspray, whatever it is will need up scaling for the West End. If they put the tour set in the Dominion of Poppins I would feel cheated.
Saying that it is a big draw on the road.

Saying that it is a big draw on the road. Hairspray isn't rumoured for a West End run, they don't want it to go in London just yet. is a tour definitely lined up for Drury lane? If so I would love it to be Mary Poppins and it would make sense!!

Is a tour destined to go there? And I so agree with the amazing actresses categories for next years Oliviers! Wow!

The Hairspray tour is touring again next year. The set looks fairly basic being its a one week each theatre tour and wuld probably need a total new one to suit the west end

Where's the article or rumour what says a touring show will go to Drury Lane? If this is true, it will most probably be Mary Popins for a limited time!
Also, who's seen the recent The Girls tweet?! Something is sure to be announced soon, I don't even know if Baz knows yet! I'm sure it could go Phoenix

I hope it comes back but it might only be for a limited season like a year. The he actresses for the Oliviers are looking amazing next year! I think it will be Sheridan Smith, Amber Riley, Beverley Knight, Deena (or would that be supporting?). I think as Lady Day is officially cast as a play Audra would be put under Best Actress in a play. Would Gina Beck be supporting or not? UK theatre actresses are amazing this year!!

So if Mary Poppins does go Drury Lane, which I think it will, where will Finding Neverland go?

Jasmine would be Supporting, she is literally only in about 5 scenes and only sings two solos and a duet. Unless there is a severe lack of Leading (which evidently there is not) she will be pushed to Supporting.
