If it is not Hello Dolly and this thread is purely subjective, then what else could go in there, I started a thread a month ago asking that question, Nederlander Group would want something in there, might they have to break the bank to get Bette Midler, if they did it certainly would be a coup and would sell well, but still Nederlander wouldn’t want there gaff empty.
Also Hello Dolly just about recouped in New York, dud to staggering high running costs.
Although if she did come over, she have strong competition with Dolly Parton in 9-5.

Yes writing 9-5 but not being in it is stiff competition.

Bernadette has concert dates in the UK from 10th-16th June. To me, that makes it look a heck more likely she's our Dolly.

If this doesn’t sway Bette or the producers to bring it over! I don’t know what will! What a brilliant actress she was! I’m sure the US tour will be feeling emotional tonight. RIP X

I'm not surprised. I'm glad it's been confirmed by Baz though, just to stop all this speculation.

I'm not totally surprised but at least this could mean it will be the chichester musical this year so things may not be completely lost. However it was also MrB who rumoured it has an '!' In it's title so I don't know how much truth there is.

Source? why not right after Bat closes? I’m not gonna name my source am I? For goodness sake. Maybe reveal your source now? So that, you know, we don't believe whatever they say next?

I wonder if it's another broadway transfer happening at the Dominion.

All I know is that I had two good friends who were in final contract negotiations for the Dominion run. Something may have gone wrong in the last week I guess. I’m going to ask them!

In defence of mrbarnaby and his sources, sometimes these things do just fall through at the very last minute before an announcement is due. It happens way more than some may think! That said, now I'm hoping for My Fair Lady, as I've heard from several sources that the Dominion was a venue of interest for them, as was the Gillian Lynne Theatre.
