Phantom of the Opera is on Sky Arts on Boxing Day at 17:15
Miss Saigon: 25th Anniversary Performance is on Sky Arts at 21:00 on New Years' Day
Sadly, Pappano's Arias doesn't seem to have made it in time for Christmas despite being previously announced, at least according to the Radio Times.

Can't wait for Funny Girl. I loved the musical at the Savoy, I saw Natasha and was so blown away with her that when Sheridan returned I booked for Natasha on a Monday instead.
It'll be good to see Sheridan. I'm just no fan of her voice, so preferred to see Natasha, whose voice I really rate.

Watched the Bros documentary "After the Screaming Stops" this evening - it's amazing! Gets another showing late night on New Years Eve and is also on iPlayer.

Much to ponder in the BBC effort “The ABC Murders”. The writer gave us the benefit of her views on Brexit in interviews beforehand (parallels with fascism) but then they followed NT best-practice in casting an American to play a part a UK actor, or even better a Belgian actor, could have played better. Freedom of movement continuing not to mean much for EU talent hoping to work at either of those locations.

Yes the pro bexit stance was very obvious in ABC, does the book have the same nationalistic tones?
But more importantly are any Belgians complaining about US actors taking work from them ?

I gave up on The ABC Murders.
It was over-written, over-designed, over-directed and none of it enhanced the original story one jot.
I am very glad that this particular screenwriter will not be working on any future Christie adaptations.
It was all too much and ultimately unrewarding for the screentime allowed for it.
I shall dig out the radio adaptation and listen to that again - I can paint my own pictures in my mind for that!

Having binged watched the ABC murders today, I didn’t get much out of it to be honest. The pace was too slow and there wasn’t much tension to the drama. I thought the previous offerings over the last few years were significantly better and ultimately more rewarding to watch. I just couldn’t take to john malkovich as Poirot. Hopefully the next Christie offering of “Death comes as the end” will be better.
