Loved Ragtime years ago at the Bridewell Theatre, back then it produced its own shows.
It started Sally Ann Tripplett, the orchestra was a klezmer band and it was designed by Graham Wynne, yes him off Changing Rooms

This is Rags, not Ragtime, but I’m sure you know that, given that the production you mentioned was of Rags.

I wonder what version of Rags they'll go with. There was a recent full-scale production in Connecticut which was dubbed as a tryout of sorts, followed by another workshop with Stephen Schwartz fully involved.

I'll certainly see 'Rags', which is a show I've wanted to see for a long, long time - the score is stunning. I just wish it was going to be directed by, well, anyone else, because the one piece of Ms. Lagan's work I've seen - her revival of 'Promises, Promises' at the Southwark Playhouse - was mind-bendingly terrible. I don't think I'll be doing a "matinee", though. I'm a very bad sleeper, and I'm often awake late - but those start times are pushing it even for me.

The timing is right for Rags which, I believe, was supposed to be something of a sequel - with different characters - to Fiddler. Joseph Stein wrote the book to both. That noted, it's - as sf says - Charles Strouse's gorgeous score that stands out. "Blame it On The Summer Night" is in the running for most beautiful song, ever.

I like the fact that they have made the full season announcement rather than drip feed the news throughout the year. It definitely makes it easier to plan stuff. Though I will be giving the 3am RAG show a miss. It’s way pass my bedtime! I’ll definitely be booking for all 3 next week once payday arrives.
