And Sheridan isn’t your typical narrator... that should’ve sent alarm bells. It did. And the reason i haven't booked for it.

I get that Sir Tim Rice was probably in that cast group photo as the lyricist but it really makes me hope that he will be playing Jacob, as unlikely as he is to put himself in the media spotlight that much. Although how fab to have to original school production Pharoah back in it? I would die of happiness.

^Sounds like this is gonna end up as The Sheridan Show with minor support from a bunch of Old Testament guys who bully their brother and live to regret it! Suppose if they’ve paid her a Kings ransom, they will want to get their money’s worth.Big problem though is if she misses shows.

I doubt that Sheridan will play those two roles as well... they usually cast Jacob and Potiphar as the same person so it should only be one announcement we’re waiting for. Jacob carries huge sentimental value for the show so it would never be a comedy moment.... unless the director’s vision is that Jacob and Potiphar are never actually seen but are more of a presence, or something along those lines? Realistically, neither character has huge amounts of lines to actually sing so there is technically no need for the audience to actually see them....

Correct me if I am wrong but Mrs Potiphar isnt listed on the website. Nor is the butcher or baker. Mrs P would be the obvious fit if she were to play any.

You are correct because Sheridan is playing mrs P not sure about butcher or baker maybe that’s doubled up ensemble role. Who knows But that I know Sheridan is playing the Jacob and mrs P Which I’ll say again and again and make everyone really annoyed!!😂😂

In the 2007 WE production, Jacob and Potiphar were played by the same actor. Butler and Baker were played by two of the actors who played brothers. I'd assume that the same would apply here. Sheridan playing Mrs P makes sense, except that the Narrator is singing while Mrs P is doing her thing.

Article in The Sun suggests that Sheridan and Jason will perform a medley of Joseph songs during one of the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals.

I’ve only seen this a handful of times in the Lee Mead era so forgive if I get this wrong, but isn’t it feasible for Sheridan to sing those parts but have the ensemble act out the story?
So someone can be dressed as Mrs P as she entices Jospeh to bed whilst Sheridan sings “come and lie with me, love!”
I’m thinking ala Wicked (sorry!) in the opening where Glinda narrates the story whilst two of the ensemble dance as the young wizard and witches mother?

On Sheridan’s Twitter, there is a video of her singing Jacob and Sons with This Morning Producer Natalie Edwards. It is more fun banter than what we’ll see in the show but lovely to watch. Also, it is now confirmed that Sheridan and Jason will perform a medley of Joseph songs during one of the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals this week, though the exact one is not known.

Seems strange to me that they’re going to be promoting Joseph on BGT, but they won’t include the actor playing him in the performance. Surely they’d want all the main cast members getting exposure?

BGT is about ratings, they couldn't care less about the guy playing Joseph.

To be fair, Joseph is normally the dullest thing about this show and my god is he annoying. Daddies boy, always right...that’s why I hope Jac has tons of likeable charm. Casting a celeb as Joseph normally balances this out, but Jac won’t have this luxury.

I am assuming that Jac will be fabulous. Like Charlie Stemp.

All sounds most unusual with kids playing brothers and Sheridan playing Mrs P and Jacob. All for reinvention though so happy to reserve judgement until I see it :-) So hoping this production is gonna be something special.
Just watched Sheridan's This Morning interview. She is incredibly likeable no doubt. Really hope she has the vocal chops for this (which I have of course doubted) as if she has this'll be fantastic.

I am assuming that Jac will be fabulous. Like Charlie Stemp. Me too. Hitherto unknowns picked from drama school are usually incredibly safe bets as they have got these first roles 100% on talent! Despite knowing nothing about him I am sure he'll be incredible.
