I think it’s likely AB will tour since “My Best Friend’s Wedding” was pulled.

Is it not weird that tickets are now on sale for the tour yet no official announcement from the producers about this?

Sadly, I didn’t win the lottery for next Sunday’s Linzi show. Please drop me a line if anyone has won but won’t be using their full allocation of 4 tickets and could spare 2 - will pay of course.

What's the best way to get reasonable priced tickets for this nowadays?

Is this really the same show I saw a few years ago with SS? It has energy, humour and above all is pure joy. Someone including you in the joke is not the same as the heavy handed humour of last time. Linzi is just ace and looked overwhelmed by the two minute entrance applause she got before a note was sung. Great fun.

Linzi is just ace and looked overwhelmed by the two minute entrance applause she got before a note was sung. Great fun. Sorry but I completely disagree with the comparison to 2019. The core show is still the same but this production is clearly designed for a central comedy narrator. Linzi is great at straight singing but there's not the humour here that there was two years ago. Yes, it was heavy handed with SS, that's what everything is designed around For example all the kids stuff doesn't work without a knowing wink and nod which has been wiped out in 2021. Audiences are not responding to it as well as they did a couple of years ago, at least not comparing the matinee I saw then with the matinee I am in today. To be honest I'm disappointed they've copy and pasted the same direction and production without any adaptations for the fact their narrators are singers and not comedians at heart. It feels lazy - and they've still got the same set piece causing grief that caused so many show stops! (today three crew members had to come on mid show and it still wasn't attached properly) Your comment about the applause reminded me that once on here someone thought a play stopped for 20 minutes while a character cleaned some rubbish off the floor - we do sometimes overestimate (the applause was more like 20 seconds for anyone reading this). Enjoy the second half!

For example all the kids stuff doesn't work without a knowing wink and nod which has been wiped out in 2021. The kids stuff worked fine for me and I didn't see the 2019 version. Didn't even take any brain cells to work out, the whole show was just giving the humour to the audience on a plate. If this one is lacking in humour then the 2019 version must have been unbearably over-played as this one is more than cheesy enough. Also the audience reception the night I saw it was rapturous.

Enjoy the second half! You should have said hi. I just remember feeling embarrassed to be there last time it was so awful. Would you deny the applause Linzi got after ‘Pharoahs Story’ today or at the bows? The place was full and I certainly didn’t hear any complaints.

Yeah, there were many people there for Linzi and she got the applause as a result - that's clear (to be fair we went to this performance because my partner wanted to see her). However applause definitely doesn't mean everything, I raise you Pharoah and the applause there... No complaints, true, nor should there be - it's a strong production done well and Linzi in particular did a very good job with the production she has been put into. My point is just it doesn't sit quite as well as it did because the dynamics at the centre are totally different. Not worse, just different.

The adoration for Donovans Pharoah was indeed mystifying, however the bond between the three leads was lovely.

SS is absolutely lovely, a great actress (her TV stuff is fab) and she can make it work in the right musical (Legally Blond etc). But her voice is just nowhere near what is required for Joseph and all the "comedy" in the world couldn't get past that. It's an underestimated sing with a wide range requiring a really strong vocal. Not a fan of the comedy personally and really hoped they'd remove it for Linzi. Having said that, she even delivers on that I think. And she still has the moves for the dance sections. A true triple threat! And really one of the most stunning MT voices the UK has ever seen. Now. Get "letting out a mighty roar" and "chained and bound afraid alone" back up to their original keys - I know she can do it!

I thought that I’d notice the key swap more but she sounded fine in act one then phenomenal in act 2.

Chained and bound was up the octave where it should be for her debut - it was a bit jarring to hear it down today. Hoping she just wasn’t feeling it and it’s not a permanent change!

Saw this at today’s matinée and was absolutely enchanted by Linzi Hateley. What a delightful performer, what a beautiful tone, what charming self-deprecation. I’d seen the Press Night in a professional capacity but felt that with LH the show was more integrated, less star-centred. That moment reminiscent of the Candide finale at the end of Close Every Dorr when the orchestra cuts to vocal a Cappella really hit home and raised a lump. Of course, much is cheesy, but there are still very affecting as well as entertaining moments and and the Ensemble seemed on fire - such energy. Of course, despite a COVID week off, it has had time to settle too. Slight hitch with the descending drapes that the children couldn’t reach and that even the stagehands scuttling on couldn’t completely resolve, but it’s live theatre and great to be back. A capacity audience went justifiability wild. I still think Jason Donovan is, however entertaining, terrible but had a heart-warming afternoon

A full cast show at Six and then Rochelle’s Narrator debut. I’m living the dream today! I did not have plans to be back at Joseph for the second time in just over 24 hours but here we are. I do not regret my choice.

Is anyone having trouble getting a refund for Joseph tickets? I booked in 2019 for the 1st night in 2021 which, of course, got postponed. Booking moved to 2021 but in the meantime they announced Linzi doing some performances so I made a 2nd booking. Decided to get a refund on the 1st performance. Applied and got e mail confirmation. Now it appears that as the booking was made so long ago they no longer have my card details so they are going to phone and do it manually. That was weeks ago and still waiting. I understand they are very busy but it's getting g silly now.
