Christmas Drink London 15 Dec Phoenix Artists Club 4-7.30pm

If 15th December I can only meet late morning or early afternoon.

I’m going to see Orbital at the Hammersmith Apollo that night but am open to a meet somewhere in central London prior to me going there.

I want to know if @ryan and @theatremonkey can make it!

That worked well for a previous meet-up last year - a few of us met pre-matinee in the Understudy at the National, then some of those people + some new arrivals met post-matinee. The evening meet-up was more difficult as it was busier and involved us debating whether to flag down likely-looking people who looked lost to come and join us

Still sorting, will confirm Wednesday.

(Clearly I am taking a leaf out of the producers of Waitress and spinning this out as long as possible.)

Anyone considered inviting Mark Shelton?

I've met him on several occasion. In fact last time he recognised me before I saw him.

I have approached a couple of venues, Phoenix Artists Club are the most amenable and we have a reservation in the main bar from 4pm until 7.30pm.

I’ve gone for a west end venue and a time slot between shows so that we can maximise all the things we love to do (meetings strangers from the internet, Christmas shopping and going to the theatre, in my case.)

Apologies in advance if you don’t like the venue/time/date. I’ve optimised for mass appeal which means I will have missed some edge-cases.


Now, if you can like this post as a means of telling me you are coming, I can either up-size or downsize the table :-)
