Well, this left me a bit cold unfortunately.
Completely concur that Rob Houchen was exquisite. He sang the rest of the cast off the stage. What a talent!
The orchestra were beautiful and the score is lovely, but it sort of ends there. It never soared for me. La Fleming was wonderful, though the lower notes were obviously out of her comfort zone. I thought her acting was fine too but no more than fine. I couldn't really take to Dove Cameron. She's just not my bag at all but I'm happy to admit that I thought she sang very well indeed. Alex Jennings had so little to do that I'm not sure why he bothered.
Also, I'm fine with semi staged musicals, which this very much was, but I couldn't help but feel that the costumes were a bit naff looking. Some were better than others but it's the sort of piece that would really benefit from spectacular costumes.

After America this production heads to Australia.
This musical is on my 2019 disappointing pile.
