Booked for balcony on the matinee on 15 June. Feel sure that will be closed off and i along with others will get bumped, there is as they good availability!

Cheaper tickets now on TodayTix. Just got row B for £55. Row S also at £48 on the date I looked.

Thanks. Your suggestion prompted me to try stealth mode on my PC and by adding six B row seats to my basket there I was then offered one in row A. Side block but will do me fine. |

A word of warning for those of you thinking that low sales may mean being bumped up to a better seat. I attend at least 1 concert a week at the Festival Hall and on occasion an orchestra might play to less than 50% capacity but all levels remain open. I think the RFH is used to having empty seats, can't imagine they'll change policy for this.

I don't know what to expect I've been assuming it's a full production since it doesn't seem to say otherwise on the website and if it was a concert/semi-staged I imagine they'd state that somewhere. |

t's a Co production with opera companies in La and Chicago so I'm expecting a full fat staging.
It's produced by John Berry who was at ENO for a good while. And remarkably for Berry he hasn't asked one of the Alden's to direct it.

Looks like they have closed off the balcony for what looks like all performances, i didnt literally check all dates but thats what it looks like. Wonder how its selling in the States? Glad i gambled now.

I saw on Instagram, can't remember where some pics of the set being built. It definitely looks grand enough and is now being advertised as 'fully-staged'!
Does anyone know of any discounts yet? Not selling amazingly and I'd like to catch it just for Celinde and Rob.
Do we think there could be a TodayTix rush for this? I know the Southbank centre is incredibly partial to papering!

It's a shame as this is such a brilliant musical (though who knows if this production will be any good, I'm not completely convinced by the clip of Dove Cameron singing Say it Somehow). I think this would have done so much better in one of the bigger/better fringe theatres like the Menier with a potential eye on a West End transfer. I suppose the ticket prices were/are that high to pay star names like Renee Fleming and Dove Cameron, though both may be a far bigger attraction in the USA than on this side of the pond. Especially Cameron, never heard of her, don't care for her and the little girls who may know her from her Disney work would not be interested in a show like Piazza. That said, I'm still looking forward to finally see it live (and I did fork out for a full price stalls seat, albeit with an Access discount that brought it down to 72.50, which is really just the standard West End theatre top price, too). |

Menier and possible Wendy's End may have worked better in terms of sales. But this is an opera production that will then go on to two American opera houses.
Shame John Berry chose RFH which isn't a theatre and not Sadlers Wells which is an excellent theatre

Ticket reductions are available - e.g. £49 for front stalls on todaytix. If this had been Fleming doing Rosenkavalier at the ROH, there would have only been around 6-8 performances but there would not have been any reductions. Fleming is a very, very big deal in international opera (has been for decades) but is moving into musicals. She did a pop record some years ago, Dark Hope. It requires nothing from her voice. She drops it so far down she almost talks her way through the songs. The wonderful French coloratura soprano, Natalie Dessay, stopped doing opera for musicals a few years ago e.g. CD with Michel Legrand. |

Booked for the final performance. Piazza was, for me, the unexpected highlight of a NY trip years ago. Literally booked it last minute on a whim and loved every moment. So I can’t wait to see this production.
