I have a feeling this may be doing the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh instead of the Playhouse. Did some stalking and found out that they had followed the BOM UK Instagram page.

Assume this will be the palace? Which has nothing announced between end of April and end of November next year! Confirmed for the Palace, according to Manchester Evening News. Dates still to be announced. |

The show is going to do great on Tour. I think the Chicago sit-down set might be in storage somewhere so they could use that. Now, the question is, will they use British Price and Cunningham or continued practice of shipping Americans over?

The Chicago sit-down set is the current Jumamosi set. The Latter-Day set is the one in Australia (it closed in Hawaii, so it was relatively close to ship it off). I guess unless they close in the West End, they'll build a new one. They can't use the non-replica Scandinavian sets.

Maybe, but I was thinking they might create a separate UK tour account after letting their London followers know about it — not merge the two into one handle.

The show is going to do great on Tour. That may depend on how they price it. There are a LOT of seats still available for Matilda in Manchester for weekday performances, even after they introduced more price bands and made a lot of the tickets significantly cheaper. Putting most of the stalls and dress circle on sale at prices above £60 may work for producers in London, but it doesn't fly here. |

It all depends on how they tour the show. During it's first run through the US the producers purposely had the show perform at a city for a week, two tops to drive up demand and ticket price. I doubt they will do it here but, Scott Rudin and Sonia Friedman are shrewed producers. They will find a way to drive up the ticket price without losing demand.

Fair enough! I think what was on my mind was how the Les Miz Broadway social media accounts changed their handles once the Broadway productions closed and the US tour launched, but this isn't really the same thing (unless BoM London closes).

Will probably see this but have never been excited enough to make the trip to London. Is it worth £50? The UK press reviews were so mediocre, not that that alone is something to go off.
