Did anyone catch the final episode last night? I really thought it was a great way to say goodbye, and cleverly done to reference lots of previous episodes. Also it has made me so excited for Stage/Fright next year! Yes! Loved it. Seemed like the perfect send off for what must be one of the most consistently great series ever made. I'm sure there were multiple references that I missed, seemed chock full of them. And I really need to get around to booking for the stage show! I have just rewatched and have picked up so many more references the second time viewing! |

Superb series. Will really miss it.
I also completed Steve Pemberton's cryptic, IN9-themed crossword on the Guardian website yesterday. It's his third outing under the Sphinx alias.
He does a pretty good job in my view, far more entertaining than some of the regular setters, with difficult but fair clues. That hasn't stopped a barrage of criticisms though from the fifteensquared.net crowd, who complain of the theme being too obscure, having never heard of IN9, and nit-picking -- unfairly -- over some aspects of the wordplay.
Of course, the same people seem to have little issue with incredibly esoteric themes or decidedly dodgy construction from their regular bank of compilers, often requiring obscure general knowledge.

This series was so wonderful and I really enjoyed the final episode. Shame it is over! Here's hoping the stage play will hit the spot...
