A bit of pathos between the cast and the audience is fine as long as it is controlled, when you get females (drunk) they are the absolute worsen for singing, talking and sometimes dancing. Blokes are the worst for looking at their mobiles, then it can be very distracting. I had a couple of people in Dartford or where badly behaved, but thankfully they weren't by me. There are several Scottish dates and I know Radio is Scottish and assume Duncan is, In that case I wonder why it does better North of the border? I have no issue with a little bit of banter. That's not what I'm complaining about. Everything you describe about drunken women was happening. One even stood up to shout at the case & poured their drink over me. She was absolutely off her face.

And we weren't just talking about one member of the audience. It was most of the audience.

One even stood up to shout at the case & poured their drink over me. She was absolutely off her face. Maybe pick your dates more carefully next time, radio? I have a feeling it would be like that most nights. Just a shame that it appears this kind of behaviour is considered the norm by some people.

The theatres will happily turn a blind eye to the drunken louts as long as the said louts continue to buy the over-priced drinks at the theatre bar.
The worst show I've been to for this was Dirty Dancing - I will never go to another show marketed mainly at the "Girls Night Out" audience.

I Left my 'audience behaviour radar' at the door tonight and went with the flow. And THOROUGHLY enjoyed the evening. Demographically-speaking, I'm pretty much the show's exact target audience and the music took me back on a wave of happy nostalgia to places I've long-since forgotten that I couldn't wait to escape from and the script pushed a lot of similar buttons. The audience, mostly but by no means entirely female, sang along to pretty much every song - though at this venue at least (and on a Tuesday evening) rarely to the detriment of the performers on stage. My hackles rose a tad when the women immediately behind me, only distantly acquainted with the concept of 'tune', first piped up but they were enjoying themselves hugely and it would have been my loss if I let them stop me doing the same. If you can't take the 'participation', this show is definitely not for you - but if you can, and you're a woman of a certain age, my guess is that you'll enjoy it as much as I did

I went to see this show this afternoon and I was actually surprised with how many of the songs I actually knew. Thought it was put together in such a good way, getting the songs in the story. In all honesty didn't know much about Jackie Magazine. Overall thought it was decent but my Mam absolutely loved it she was certainly in the age range it was made for!
