Glad I caught this at the new City Theatre Studio in Southampton
I knew this was depicting Martin Luther King’s final hours in the motel room, but I didn’t expects to see where this play actually went.
There was plenty of touching, hilarious, and poignant moments thanks mostly to the acting in this two hander. Gbolahan Obisesan gave a very convincing grounded the King himself, especially seeing what he goes through with Rochelle Rose as this sassy, flirtatious, but allusive room service maid
Maybe I didn’t need the montage that came at the end, but at least they thought to keep it up to date without pulling any cheap punches
Well worth the praise the play has received

Finding it impossible to find any details of the full tour routing. Rather simple oversight in this age of digital information access..
Edit: Finally. None of the official channels producing this actually have full routing details. Doesn't get close to me so will miss it, unfortunately.

Not sure if it is the same production but back on tour. Oddly enough I saw it as the venue above (though now known as MAST). Didn't know what to expect and loved it. Very moved at the end. If you get the chance go see it!

I saw both productions as well (they are different). Interesting that it's a popular choice for revivals

I saw this years ago at the Trafalgar Studio with David Harewood. Brilliant play as I recall. I would definitely love to see it again. Looks like I’m going to miss it this time around, such a short run at Stratford East. Shame. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s not seen it.
