I was reminded this week that the transfer of Apologia opened off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre.
I thought this was great when I saw it at Trafalgar Studios and loved Stockard Channing in it. I really am gutted that Hugh Dancy is in the New York production though! It would have been terrific to see him (and his talent) in London.
Ive noticed that the set is quite different in this production. I found that a bit strange. I wonder if this is a common thing with transfers of plays or if they've just taken the opportunity to change some things (the branding is different also and it almost seems to be marketed as more of a comedy this time)
Either way, I would recommend it to any board members in New York before Christmas. It's some proper drama, I thought, with great performances.

It's the kind of play I could see going into the American Airlines Theatre.

Other than Stockard Channing it's a completely new production - directed by Daniel Aukin - with an all new design team. Reviews have been good for Channing - less so for the play itself.

Saw it in London and now New York and it's about the same show. Liked both productions especially Stockard Channing.

Many people associate her only with Grease but having appreciated her so much in the West Wing I knew she'd be good in this.

She was so good in the original Six Degrees of Separation, and more recently, Other Desert Cities.

Apologia is also playing in Swedish in Stockholm at the moment and will be played at English Theatre Frankfurt from March.
