Seeing Alice as Elphaba for the sixth and seventh time this week! So excited! Her portrayal is absolutely stunning!

Alice was rocking it on stage last night at her 51st Elphaba show, I've been told! Someone said that last night was Alice saying she's ready for lead, so let's hope she's got it!

Seems a very odd thing to say even if she has got it. Can't think of anyone that would say"right that's it, I'm ready for lead now" Something tells me the person that originally said this is either making it up or has misheard...

I think the person who made that comment (in the Wicked thread) meant that Alice's performance was her showing that she's ready to be lead, not that she outright said she was ready - at least that is how I interpreted it anyway

Alice seems to be doing amazingly as Elphaba, seen quite a few people saying they prefer her to Willemijn which I definitely wasn't expecting!

Why are you surprised?
Everyone has different tastes, especially when it comes to girls in Green.

Honestly the amount of people I saw saying that nobody could ever beat Willemijn was huge, but quite a lot of those people seem to have taken it back now.

I just saw a tweet where someone said Alice should play Jenna in Waitress if/when it comes over... I mean, no shade, but judging by her audios and having seen her in Shrek, Alice doesn't seem to be able to do subtlety very well which a fair bit of Waitress requires.

If we are talking because Willemijn was the one before her, then I'd probably say its not surprising, especially as most fans that go back again and again constantly are younger fans. But if you asked the fans of the show who don't go back all the time, maybe once a cast, I'd be intrigued to see what is said. I would be shocked if Kerry, Rachel, Louise and Nikki (amoung others) were not still atop peoples lists, even over Willemijn!

I find that hard to believe when you bring over a conversation from a lone opinion on twitter to this board, where nobody is talking about this actress in that role, just to point out her flaws and why she isn't good for a certain role. Simply writing "no shade" all the time does not make your comments less than shady. I have no bias towards Alice by any means, I've never even seen the woman in anything, but I just find that you're trying to instigate a reaction from those on here who clearly admire her.

I have no issue with Alice as a performer, she is good at what she does. I admire her in the sense of doing all ehr shows, being consistant, and I have no issue with anyone who admires her likewise. I am merely saying, on seeing said tweet, it brought the thought into my head of whether or not she would be a good casting choice for Jenna. And the no shade thing, I say that all the time, it isn't relevant to just thia conversation haha.

I'm painfully aware that you say it. It's like saying "no offence" as a way of (unsuccessfully) softening the blow before saying something very offensive.

I don't think there was anything offensive in what I said, she wouldn't be right for Jenna. Its just my opinion and it means nothing soo if thats how it came across then sorry.

I think when people really really like a performer they want to see them in every role they like, whether they are 'suitable' for that role or not.

She played the lap dancer in Lift after Sister Act, in the tiny Trafalgar Studios but she's probably forgotten about that one.
