Damn it, why did they have to go with all the Sunflowers! I get it is part of the story, but they shoulda just had the one big one with the name of the show rather than that, it looks terrible! That being siad, I am glad they have kept with the light blue and yellow posters, thats cute and I really like the deisng of those. Shame the main name banner had to ruin it. And the shadiness is still ongoing, the big name header saying Gary Barlow and then the name of the show, again making people think he is in the show rather than just writing the music, a smart but really shady way to sell tickets.

There's still 6,000 sunflowers to go!! Really intrigued as to where they will go on the theatre?!

Where does it show in that picture Gary Barlow more prominent than The Girls? Please point it out as I'm struggling to see it.
If anyone's stupid enough to not read it properly then they deserve to be disappointed when he doesn't appear!

I didn't say his name was more prominent than The Girls, I just said it is shady that on the main posters that you can see from across the street, to have Gary Barlow's name in the same place as usually the leading cast in theatre and film posters and not specifying he only wrote the music.

Think the last thing it needs is more sunflowers.

I'd say I disagree with that - though I totally get what you mean. You'd only have a cast name on a theatre poster above the title if they were 'famous', other than that there's never really cast names on the poster at all, but there isn't that kind of person in this show, so Gary Barlow is the draw. And it's not just Gary's name alone, it reads 'Gary Barlow & Tim Firth's' followed by the name of the show, implying pretty implicitly that they wrote it.

I understand that mentality, and I hadn't noticed the Firth's part of it, therefore meaning it seems alot more that they wrote/created it, until you mentioned it. I still don't like it though, you know full well almost every performnsce there will be a couple of stupid people complaining, thinking Gary is in the show and that is why they brought the tickets. That is just how the general public work, some people are stupid. That being said, that isn't the worst part of the outside of the building, I can accept the name as it is smart for buisness... it is those god awful sunflowers that is the problem!

The Sunflowers that make the theatre name a challenge to read are particularly bad but the sheer number of them is ghastly

Yes you're totally not wrong that some will be expecting Gary to be in the show - especially with the TV promotion they've been doing, he's certainly taken a centre-stage spot in most of those!

On a more positive note, I was coming round to the idea of seeing this at some point. Even though I stil, don't see much point in it, I never saw the play back in the day, and I like the film so may have to give this a visit. Maybe an rfening show though, so I am not blinded by the disgusting yellow overloadof the building on a bright day. 😂

If anyone's stupid enough to not read it properly then they deserve to be disappointed when he doesn't appear! This. Those who go along, expecting Deirdre Barlow to appear, are only bringing it upon themselves. I get it's very frustrating that he's showboating all over this, but the information is out there. People only have to read it.

I am really confused as to where the other 6,000 sunflowers will go! I thought they'd go on the pillars and along the pillar but where else is there to put them unless they cover the whole theatre? Maybe they'll be put inside?
But atleast the producers and creative team have put some effort and thought into the FoH!! What other theatre has got this much detail into it? It's much better than just having a simple sign saying "The Girls"

I am shocked that the marquee is not just a big photo of Barlow's face with a sunflower painted on it.

It's much better than just having a simple sign saying "The Girls" I wouldn't say that having thousands and thousands of the same thing is showing a great deal of thought. It's lazy and looks awful. Did they get Alan Titchmarsh to design it? I wonder at what point they'll decide "well, I think that's just about enough on the sunflowers now!"

Whilst it's not as tasteful as it could be, at least it certainly draws attention to the building. Not many a person will walk past it without taking a look...

Perhaps they were thinking it's an alternative to glinting sequins?

It's so bright it may actually draw attention away from the outside of the Palace Theatre, a place thwt, since Harry Potter opened, has become a social media favourite!
