She's a bit too young/old for any of the parts really. She must be what, late twenties/early thirties? The roles are either for Those in their forties, with the odd few teenagers. Ah yes that is true. Who do you think would be good for the cast? Personally, like I've said, I'd love for most of the original cast to come back, commitments permitting. Especially Joanna, Debbie and the two Claires. I did think Sophie Louise Dann perhaps?

I think they would need some "names" maybe so I'm thinking Claire Sweeney or maybe Gemma Arteton could come back to musical theatre? Wonder when cast will be announced...

The likelihood of Gemma Arterton doing The Girls is zilch.

Do you guys think this will last longer than BILB? Honestly, no, I think this will be a short runner in the West End.

Blimey. Who knew! I thought it was on and off in a few months! Must be the gin

I can't see it lasting, it just feels like it's missed it's moment. The story has been done to death and it isn't one that screams musical. Can't see it appeal to tourists either
The Barlow name may help but without him in it I'm not sure if his fans will still go just because he wrote the songs

Blimey. Who knew! I thought it was on and off in a few months! Must be the gin I must agree I didn't think it ran this long! Very surprised it lasted that long considering they were literally giving away tickets towards the end of the run!! I think The Girls could do a year considering it's a well known story, Gary Barlow is behind it and it could have a good cast

I hope you aren't in charge of casting or we'll have Kelly Brook and someone from TOWIE in it too!

I hope you aren't in charge of casting or we'll have Kelly Brook and someone from TOWIE in it too! I reckon Kelly Brook could get the punters in but if your saying someone from TOWIE, how about Ferne McCann? I reckon I'd be quite good for casting for my shows!

So Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's "The Girls", based on the film "Calendar Girls", will open at the Phoenix Theatre in early 2017. Who's excited about this? I heard two of the songs and it sounds really good. Could this show become the first new British musical since Matilda to succeed in the West End?

I was going to do that BB, but using the search box didn't bring up another thread. Is our search engine just weak? Yeah, I searched for a thread before I made a new one and nothing came up.

I'm really looking forward to this show. They seem to be putting lots of work into creating a good, British musical so I really hope it does well!
