Wasn't it advertised as a new cast potentially from Feb including Lucie?
Is she doing Legally Blonde again??

I'll be gutted if she leaves at Christmas, I was hoping to see her in Northampton in January. The website does make it look like the cast isn't changing until 8th February though.

No, Lucie is with the tour until Stoke in December.

Lucie's name is on all of the individual venues' websites for each of the January dates, and also Bristol from 8th Feb, so if she's not doing 2022 now then it's being mis-sold really.

If you look on the atg site it has different images for different dates. It has Chelsea now for Bristol, Lucie for Edinburgh, Woking and Manchester.

I'm guessing what's happened is she originally planned on doing the whole tour but another job (Wicked most likely) has come up and she's accepted.

She notoriously hates touring and if she's been trying to land Elphaba for years then it's all for the best I guess 😀

Lots of £13 seats in the stalls have been released for Sunderland. Not selling well there at all, even for weekend shows.
In the marketing they say "this is the only place you can see the amazing Lucie Jones play Jenna in the North East" yet the marketing video is the original London cast and the pictures on the booking page is someone else I do not know.

The Waitress marketing team really are rubbish aren't they. They've learned nothing from the previous balls-ups!

Atleast they are discounting, unlike in Wimbledon where the prices remained high with rows upon rows of empty seats. Hardly the sort of show which I can see appealing to the typical Sunderland audience though.

Edinburgh marketing is the same, I'm still seeing posters around the city e.g. at bus stops with Lucie advertised, the show info on the ATG website is saying Chelsea Halfpenny (who actually is starring) and then the picture on ATG is showing Bailey McCall who was on the non-Equity US tour. A bit of a mess!!

Might pop down to Eastbourne this week to see Lucie one more time, anyone been to the Congress Theatre there and know anything about best value seats? Can’t work out how high up the grand circle is (there’s only one circle but the stalls become tiered at the back like stadium seating).

Certainly a surprise to see Lucie not carrying on. Would’ve thought she’d be prepping to play Cardiff where the audience would’ve been electric to see a local girl back.

Is this kind of thing not frowned upon within the theatre world? She is breaking contractual obligations for a better offer after a tour that was advertised on the back of her name. I hate to be a misery guts and I like Lucie but it doesn't really sit well with me. If it's seen as acceptable, I'm just surprised it doesn't happen more often? "Jones will be doing the full tour through to August 2022, with Hoskins, Marvin and Willis performing until the Hull dates." www.whatsonstage.com/wimbledon-theatre/news/waitress-uk-and-ireland-tour-lucie_53850.html

Isn't it more likely that she has been released from her contract, rather than breaking it? For all we know, she and her agent may have had a clause inserted for just such a scenario.
There may have been false advertising, but our contract is with the theatres, not Lucie Jones.

If the reason is correct I’m thrilled for her but it will be a shame not to see her. I have missed her so many times for various reasons!

It just doesn’t seem to happen very often that performers leave a show early to go into something else. I imagine many performers would be juggling multiple offers.

Or perhaps the producers knew this was coming all along and still decided to advertise the tour as if she would stay until 2022, as the original announcement suggested.

I don't think it's simply a case that she took up a better offer when it came along mid tour. I think it's that the producers wanted her for the Waitress tour, and enough so that knowing Wicked (if that is the future project) was in the pipeline, were happy for her to leave if/when that happened. It works both ways though: Waitress put her out of the show for a period during the London run for Sara Bareilles to come in, which was also the case for several of the original London cast during the run. So yes, I'm fairly sure the producers knew this was a possibility all along. But since when have the Waitress marketing team really cared about accuracy?

Would expect any savvy agent would get a break clause in there. Means LJ can look for other work, safe in the knowledge she’ll have a regular gig.

Dont forget, Nikki Bentley was announced to be in the Priscilla tour in 2019, and then vanished from all their press releases and marketing and was then announced as London Green Gal...

A tech crew member has just put on the waitress facebook fan page that the tour stop in stoke (what should’ve been lucie’s last) has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales
