If it was doing a TodayTix Lottery/Rush, I would've seen it by now. Many shows offer tickets via that method from opening, so I don't see how it would damage reputation or lead people to think they need to shift tickets... Yeah I also don't get that. They do do day seats though....

Getting there early enough for day seats would be an issue. I’d definitely go back if they did offers through TodayTix.

I really want this show to do well over here I come from a small town and whenever people by me are looking for show recommendations I say waitress and people ask me what is it about. I have to exsplain it to them, but they end up choosing shows like lion king, or phantom or Mamma Mia. I really want this show to have success over here I think it will take time. And I agree they need to lower the ticket prices. I'm going to dayseat next time I'm up. As I love this show, and I think it will do a good year or 2 at least then head out on tour. I would say little chance of it surviving until the end of the year. People just aren't spending the money necessary to keep it open. You're going to day seat (don't blame you at all, I did the same), but the day seat buyers certainly don't cover the costs.

I would like to see this tomorrow night. There are still loads of stall tickets available. However I don't want to be paying top price and then find out that people with much cheaper tickets have been moved to the expensive stall seats. I just can't see how they can sell all the available tickets before tomorrow so with this in mind I haven't booked. Will look at it again tomorrow as I think I'll try first for the mamma Mia lottery.

Your risk there is they close the areas with the cheap tickets and move people down - but if you don't book, the cheap areas will no longer be on sale and you'll miss your chance. It's a bit of a gamble either way.

Newbie here, been reading for a few weeks now and decided to join in. Was hoping to book for May 2nd performance, are they moving people down to the stalls every night? Was thinking of booking a cheap seat in the hope to be moved.

If the tickets were being sold at a discounted rate or via offers then someone on this board would surely have heard about it,
I don't see why the producers turn down extra revenue from going to TKTS booth even if its only for a limited number of seats, it still brings extra revenue in.

Someone said all 3 tiers were open yesterday and I think they were tonight. Also tickets sales might be picking up generally by May. But I’m no expert on this!

Think I got spooked with the chat about possible closure in May and being in London on 2nd May, I’m keen to catch it before it’s too late. I’ll hold off until closer to the time and see if they start up TodayTix or something.

I love musicals but no desire to see this as sounds boring & never heard of the main actress.

I love musicals but no desire to see this as sounds boring & never heard of the main actress. Which sums up the problem perfectly...marketing. The show is, for want of a less patronisingly bland word, lovely. In the same way that ‘Notting Hill’ and ‘Paddington 2’ are lovely. But whoever is in charge of selling it hasn’t got this message out there yet or paid the right people to say this publicly because otherwise you’d have people ‘awwwing’ all over it. Such a shame. It has some great songs and great performances being missed out on because of the producers misguided relationship with the Adelphi & a chronicly passive story which simply can’t excite when just described to you.

For me, it's a combination of marketing and choice of theatre. The Adelphi is far too big for this show - somewhere like Gielgud (or another theatre of a similar size) would have been a more appropriate choice.

"She will play her final performance on 15 June, with her successor in the role to be announced soon." The people in this thread that want it to be over by tomorrow must be fuming

Her extending slightly through to June would lead me to believe that will be the closing or they have scrapped the understudy take over idea and are having Lucie just take over when she is availible.

I would think Sara would want to take on the role at some point even for a limited period?

Interesting I phoned the theatre now to say I know I had missed the day seats (unfortunately I couldn't get away from work) but do they have any other reductions for tonight. Answer was no. Considering they still have approx 160 seats available in the stalls for tonight I thought maybe they would offer a reduction even a small one.

I would think Sara would want to take on the role at some point even for a limited period? She’s busy with her new album and creating her Little Voice tv show though so would she have the time, and does she even want to move to London to do it?

I can’t see it closing before all the busy touristy summer months, unless they have a show ready to replace it.

Well to be fair, at no time did Waitress ever officially say or list on their website when she was playing Jenna until (they purposefully didn’t reveal that) so I don’t blame the buying public for assuming she’d still be there in July, especially as they extended the booking period to Oct and her name and face is all over the marketing!

Well more fool them as she was never expected to be in it past May! I was going to say exactly the same thing. Also, in regards to the comment that it was never public of how long she was staying: Well that was just a reply to someone who asked her on her twitter so hardly anyone will have seen that. All I’m saying is that Waitress itself never officially said when Katharine was playing until so for the majority of people booking they wouldn’t know, so yeah I do personally feel bad for someone who has arranged a trip from so far away and now isn’t gonna see the person they thought they would. 😞
