I've heard there is a massive PR f*** up and they didn't mean to put these photos out if Lucie at all but now they've caught some traction way before they were supposed to.

Yes Lucie is so lovely and will be fantastic as Jenna if this does come about. My only problem is that she's a little bit too young for how I'd see Jenna, I think Jenna should be early 30s at least, and Lucie is 27. Especially when there are all these women in their mid-thirties playing college student Elphaba it does seem a bit odd. She'll be amazing though and I suppose it's not too much of a stretch if we just imagine that Jenna married Earl quite young.

I was literally about to say just that, Waitress is an asbolute nightmare with its press/casting/social media and this just sums it up really. It’s all an absolute mess and I’m so here for it

I know slightly different situation but I was in New York when ghost was in previews and all the artwork in Times Square was Mark Evans and Siobhan Dillon who had just taken over in London.
If it is a huge mistake maybe she really is just there for photos? Maybe Stephanie or Sara weren’t available?

It's possible, and Evans/Dillon weren't (and probably generally still aren't) recognizable to the general American theatregoing public. Lucie Jones, though, is recognizable enough that via social media, people are finding this amusing. In the grand scheme of things, most Americans are going to see the posters/signs IRL and only care that it has Joey from NKOTB, and seems to be the aim. She's not the focus here, for now. |
