Katie Brayben for Jenna? Played the role of Carole King which obviously Jessie originated on Broadway, great actress and singer, and Olivier Award winner.

I dont know if It's me, but I think they'll need someone fairly famous to play Jenna? Dawn and Becky should be played by theatre stars though

Susan McFadden singing 'She used to be mine'
I actually think she sings it much better than the original.

She has a beautiful voice, but I think Jessie and Sara have more character in their voices which works for the song when it is context.

Quoting this from a thread on BWW, so take with a pinch of salt:
"Waitress is rumoured to be wanting the Novello (kicking out Mamma Mia!) or The Adelphi (kicking out Kinky Boots)"

Quoting this from a thread on BWW, so take with a pinch of salt: "Waitress is rumoured to be wanting the Novello (kicking out Mamma Mia!) or The Adelphi (kicking out Kinky Boots)" My concern would be that both of those theatres may be too big for this show, especially as it is such an intimate show it seems.
If this is the case (which as you say, take as a pinch of salt), my guess would be the Novello and move Mamma Mia!, possibly next door to the Aldwych Theatre after Beautiful? Or move Waitress there?
It all depends on when Waitress is aiming to come in, as it could do the Adelphi but Kinky Boots seems to be doing well, as does Mamma Mia! so it all depends on when those shows choose to close or move to a different theatre, though if Kinky closes at the Adelphi, I don't think it would move, whilst I would imagine Mamma Mia! moving as it has more staying power.

Maybe the Novello? Mamma Mia might change theatres? Can't see either of ode theatres hosting it thought if I'm completely honest

I wouldn't assume it would be either of those theatres either, but simply because of the size of them, not because of the shows currently there.
I suspect somewhere like the Harold Pinter.

The adelphi becoming free sooner rather than later wouldn't surprise me and has a better location but novello would probably be a better fit size wise

The other thing to consider is that Sarah Barielles isn't as well known over here than in America (not to deny her fanbase), the film isn't either. It will come over purely on the word-of-mouth from Broadway which admittedly is good but I would think a 1000 seat theatre is probably the smartest move for this show, especially as it is only in a 1069 seat theatre on Broadway.

She's not really famous at all though is she? Couldn't name one single song of hers.

She's not really famous at all though is she? Couldn't name one single song of hers. This is her biggest hit in the UK, which admittedly is one of my favourite songs since it first came out! It is her only UK hit, in 2007 where it peaked at number 4 in the UK Charts. The album it came from peaked at number 9 in the UK Charts. She has had no other hit albums or singles in the UK. She is a lot bigger in America, even though I personally really like her music!

I would say she is famous in America, hence why she has been able to contribute to this show's success to the degree that she has, but I don't know how many people remember her here. I could be wrong, but I don't see the show being a big success in London in the same way that it has been in New York.

Gosh, I remember "Love Song" being so overplayed on the radio, but I agree it is one of her best songs. "Brave" got a fair amount of radio air time when it was first released but only charted at number 48 in the UK charts. She is definitely more renowned in the States but she is a really good songwriter. "Hold My Heart", "Breathe Again" and "King of Anything" are also ones I frequently listen to by Sara. I definitely wouldn't say no to seeing Waitress as I have listened to Sara's album of the songs and "She Used To Be Mine" really stood out. I'm agreeing this probably would need a name to grab a good UK audience due to Sara not being such a huge name over here to sell the show, although Mr Barnaby will not be pleased to say I am one of the guilty ones who would like to see Rosalie in the role.

Maybe this could go to the Aldwych if Beautiful closes next year?

amazon.com has finally delivered the cast recording on Saturday, and I listened to it on my flight to Berlin yesterday. And what can I say: boring. The entire recording is full of uninspired bad pop songs and lowlights. There was not one single song I enjoyed, and it was really hard for me to not skip through the entire CD. Not even Jessie Mueller (I adored her in Beautiful) could save it. But hey, at least it saved me from seeing this on Broadway in December, so I got one free time slot.

Waitress is my latest theatre obsession, I really hope it comes over with Jessie so I have a chance of seeing it!

Supposedly taking over from either Kinky Boots or Mammy Mia I've heard rumours like this but I can't seem to get my head round it!! Where have you heard them? I can kind of understand Mamma Mia as its been going 16 years but still does well box office wise!! Kinky Boots has only been here a year - I would've thought it would stay for another year atleast? I thought that was popular. I think Waitress shouldn't go to the Adelphi as it could be too big - i dont know if the film and creative team are that well known over here? I think it'll need a name for the lead if it goes to a theatre that big? I still think the Aldywch would suit it to a T or maybe the Harold Pinter

So looks like this won't be going to the Harold Pinter now after the announcement today.
Not sure at all now?

WAOVW? Is only running until May. I know that Spring was forecast for Waitress but I wouldn't be surprised if it took a little longer.

Was the Pinter ever likely, it takes time for shows to transfer, the average is about two years, some like Once and Beautiful did come within a year but that's the exception and not the norm

Yeah I know that shows dont usually transfer this quickly, it is about 2 years, but don't you remember Baz saying that this show is looking for a house to open Spring 2016?

I don't think that the Pinter was likely for Waitress anyway. It's more often than not a playhouse.
