I'm guessing Poppins fell through if Waitress is going to the Adelphi, does seem a bit big for the show though.
Like the new Adelphi logo.

Fantastic news! I really hope I'll manage to see it during the trip I booked for Come From Away (end of February).

I'm surprised it's in a theatre as big as the Adelphi but much like others, I can't wait for this! I'll definitely be booking as soon as.

A much bigger theatre than it is playing in New York, makes me think they have some good casting lined up.
I'm still curious as to whether they may have Keala Settle open the London production. She's certainly recognisable from Greatest Showman and it's not exactly "star" casting, but as I've said before she'd be an obvious person along with Sara to both open the show and do PR for it.

Yes. Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes! I think to start off with they’ll bring over Sara and Keala to gain publicity because the Adelphi is a bit of a barn and they need to fill seats.

Not to be dramatic or anything, but if Sara did it I would, as the kids say DIE.
(I may have a bit of a crush on her. I may be a bit obsessed with the Waitress recording. I may be obsessed with anything that involves baked goods)

I think they'll have a British Jenna but I would love to see Jessie Mueller make her West End debut.

Great news and also Ryan's comment about Katherine McPhee is one of the most cutting even he has ever come up with. Her current beau David Foster produced most of US Supergroup Chicago's power ballads back in the day too.

I think they'll have a British Jenna but I would love to see Jessie Mueller make her West End debut. Ditto, and ditto. She's been one of my fave performers for years now and I'm desperate to see her live. But I do doubt they'd bring her over. Could see Sara opening it though, potentially. How exciting!

What am I missing here? I have not listened to the entire OCR but those songs I have heard do nothing for me.
I am thrilled for those people who are excited by this - but will it resonate beyond those who already know the score? The movie it is based on is certainly not a known quantity.
It sounds like a chamber scale show in a large-ish house - which will only make it more of a challenge to sustain.
I may well be wrong - and that is fine. It is good to see new shows coming into the West End. But I just find it hard to see how it will establish itself.
