The statement she released is beyond shocking. I can't even fathom how someone can think that, and I cannot understand why someone would choose to say that to a reporter

Okay, according to the dude responsible for this article, it's satire, so we should probably stop discussing it as truth:

Society and the legal system are also to blame.
Why was that father allowed to brainwash and mentally abuse his kid like that? This creates world alienated monsters per definition. Why was there no lesson plan in her school that taught her about all the differences and problems of religion and life? Why is discrimination and evil out of religion so socially accepted? Why does this deserve the same legal protection as homosexuality?
It's time for change.

Poe's law strikes again!
(The site does not mark itself as satire anywhere obvious.)

So is the entire site satire? I am not sure what is going on Me neither, it doesn't change anything, the article just said that she stands by her points/hasn't changed her mind yet. How would that be funny/satire? Edit: Oh, I think I get it, the joke is that she would claim she was born this way, while of course that can't be, while homosexuality is actually congenital. The sad part is that religious people actually believe that, so it is actually truth, not satire.

These days "satire" seems to have two meanings:
1) A style of comedy. 2) A lie told by people with no sense of humour.

I don’t accept that because you have been brought up, with a diet of hate that has been drummed into you through religion, it is an automatic choice you will take into your adult life. If you are forced as a child to eat Spam and Brussels Sprouts unwillingly, you are not going to choose to take this into your mature cognitive phase, when you can stand on your own two feet and can think independently.
So why make a poor choice of becoming an actress (that is a career, which identities as being inclusive) and being homophobic, this two don’t co-exist.

Considering that satire is meant to be somewhat exaggerated to make it at least a little clear that the subject is being ridiculed, I rather fear we're living in a post-satirical world. If it sounds 100% spot on, you've missed the satire boat, but honestly, nothing sounds *that* outlandish anymore...

If that's meant to be satire, that guy is a truly terrible writer...

True, but there are essential parts in a person's cognitive situation later in life that are based on primary things we have been taught as kids. For example that thinking independently does not exist. That a person has no responsibility whatsoever. Of course this will clash in real life with about anything she will encounter, but it's no about all those subjects, it's about the absence of responsibility. Which is now sadly her identity. She does not know what choices are because she always told herself/has been taught that god makes them for her. It's like a brick wall. They often feel entitled and we are mere mortals who hopefully find god one day too, in her eyes. I don't know how to put this into words in a nicer way, but you might give her too much credit, as if she is a person with her own thoughts. We should not underestimate religious indoctrination.

On reflection, it's likely that any compromise agreement they'd have offered her included a gagging clause, and that she won't be making any public statement at all.

The statement on that site has not done her any favours and probably made it worse for her, if thats possible.
If i was her I would want a staement from them clarifying that she hadn't said anything at all.

f***ing joke. Whilst Omooba has not played this very well, in any way, a "satirical" post (which by my definition, this absolutely is not) of this nature has potential for a whole lot more damage. It seems the only intention really was to get peoples attention and visits to the site, mission accomplished, with the whole situation exacerbated. Poor poor "journalism".

Indeed Baemax did break the story 3 hours ago, that she has been dropped by her talent agent.
Just now hope she enjoys waitressing.

Bernard Dayo's fake news/bad satire (what's the target of this pathetic "satire?") article is totally irresponsible, making life harder for someone already under more pressure than most could bear. I hate for one young person, still trying to get her thoughts together over a post she made 4 years ago, who has already lost a great job, to have to further bear the full weight of two millennium's prejudice and brainwashing, as if she made it up herself. After all, Ann Widdecombe (who can have her rib back), much older and supposedly much wiser, spent a whole career putting the full weight of Parliament and the law behind these exact same prejudices, she remains immovably recalcitrant in those views, and yet she is a beloved figure, celebrated for her turn on Strictly, and who still does panto quite happily. Seyi Omooba has suffered enough, in my view, assuming she does not allow herself to become a spokesperson for intolerance.

Seyi Omooba has suffered enough, in my view, assuming she does not allow herself to become a spokesperson for intolerance. The real suffering is being brainwashed like that and having struggles with any situation in the real world. She has already made a public statement about her views on being homosexual versus being christian and has shown that what she thinks is natural and congenital is the actual opposite from reality. I don't think a website repeating that given (even though not funny) is that big of a deal in the end. One can expect ridicule when making statements like this. We don't know why she doesn't make public statements about the case, it could very well be that she's not allowed to. It seems likely that she stands by her statements herself too, otherwise she would have explained herself after the tweet went viral. But, aside from this case, the suffering stays for as long as she doesn't understand the situation. This is not just about losing a job or an agent, this is about losing life. Real life passes her by. Life is so very much above religion, it really can't be put into words. Every thought or judgement should be based on life experience. There are so many sides to every subject. There are 4200 religions in the world. Choosing 1 is too limiting for words. Life starts where religion ends.

I agree. And while I understand why she tweeted to say that the article was fake that’s now opened up an opportunity for people reply with further demands for a statement from her. She owes no-one a statement. What’s happened and how she’s dealt with it demonstrates what her current beliefs are more than sufficiently. She obviously hasn’t changed her mind so what is there to say? If I was her I’d disappear for a bit. Get off twitter and do her own thing, whatever that is. She probably thinks she’s done nothing wrong so doesn’t feel inclined to do that but really, someone should have a word with her even if it’s only someone in her own family.
