Just had a look - some good stuff here. I'd recommend 'morning in the streets' though I'm biased - it's my home town. There was a great early series on costume rebroadcast on BBC4 a few years ago, though originally from the 60s or maybe even earlier - it's not on iplayer, but maybe they can be persuaded...

There is some fabulous stuff there. The original Civilisation series will keep me happy for a day or two as a start!

Men, Women and Clothes - not on iplayer, but it is online if you look up 'BBC archive' under the heading "what we wore", though the picture is tiny. It's the BBC's first colour series from 1957, and the historic clothes are the real thing. It's well worth a watch for anyone with an interest in costume.

Never mind the drama, the archive section also has Bob's Full House!
